**Thanks man...that was a cool trip.. ... **

Once in a while I look around,
I see a sound
and try to write it down
Sometimes they come out very soft
Tinkling light sound
The Sun comes up again

I live very near Farnborough where the international air show is on every few years.  I think it's on again this summer.  If so I will try and get some photos.  I have never yet got a decent photo of a bird in flight, so how I will get a jet plane god only knows!

At least with a jet you can somewhat predict where it will be at a given moment. ;']

WOW! some amazing photography there! Thanks for sharing...

I was able to see the Angels practice in Pensacola Fl. It is great fun to watch. I also live in Wisconsin and have the good fortune of seeing the EAA (Expiramental Aircraft Association) annual fly in at Oshkosh every year. Some of you may have seen my B-2 and F-22 shots from the Air Venture 07. I love this stuff.

Great subject...

David, get yourself down to the Mach Loop in Wales.
Google image search on Mach Loop...know a lot of togs who go there!
ps....only have a few secs for a shot sometimes!!!
Its all about skill, techique, exp, settings and lens used...and generally, knowing ones stuff.
The skill in shooting in flight shots be it  birds or aircraft...will not happen overnight, takes time,  patience, ones understanding of the camera/lens and its capabilities!

There is some really awesome shots in that bunch...thanks for sharing those with us.
Airliners. net have some great military photos on it also if you haven't already had a peek there.

Airshows are always impressive, from the aerobatic from folks like Sean Tucker, Patty Wagstaff and others..then to the sheer power of the military planes.  There is not a way to do justice to the sound on the best hi fi  or movie..being there is suddenly very real especially when the afterburners kick in and those planes do a vertical climb.  Sometimes, they approach from behind you and you dont hear a thing until whoosh you are passed up.  Good link.
