Suddenly I'm getting a Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library error when Vue starts initializing and talks about the crashing in compatiblity mode. Then Vue shuts down.

I just finished cleaning and optimizing the registry but that didn't do anything.

Any insights, fixes, cures or new curse words?

Thanks,

M

Did you load a new video driver or any new software?  I heard of this before, but can't find the thread.

Find out what VS version it is.  I think that Vue uses the Visual Studio 5 x86 or x64 depending on your system.  You have two optioins here, to uninstall Vue and reinstall and one of the patches will reinstall VS5.  Can't rmember which.  There are two versions of Visual Studio 2005 32 and 64 bit, and you can get either redistributable from MS

32bit

Peggy..nope, just came home from work and fired up Vue as usual.

Keenart....Thanks. I'll give that a try.

Try a system restore.  I found the thread here on renderosity, but it seemed that a reload was their only solution.

This has happened to me in the past.  Typically I restore my Vue.env file(from a previous backup) and this fixes it.  If you don't have a backup delete this file & Vue will create a new one.  Keep in mind if you don't have a backup of this file you will loose your custom settings.

If that doesn't work try the same thing with the Config.env file the results willbe the same as above.

Hope this helps - these solutions came from Technician John Canver at EON.

THis happened tome also in the past, on my previous laptop. Had to uninstall/reinstall everytime. Wish I knew then your solution, Debbie!
Happened also on main PC, but I was able to reopen Vue normally after this warning.
Both machines  running WinXP Home.

Thanks folks...but none of these solutions worked.  Uninstall and reinstall. Must be some connection file got corrupted or something. At least Vue leaves all your stuff intact when you have to take it off.....
