I think [ Daz3D's Bryce 5.5](http://www.download.com/Bryce/3000-6677_4-10696716.html?tag=lst-1) is your best start! It's not quite Vue, but for Free; you will get over Vue's learning curve, for a while! If you do decide to go with Vue, make sure you get a version that can Export Skies(only Infinite and XStream.) An exported Sky is a sky that has been transformed into a Map, that is meant to be textured onto a Sphere; or more appropriately a Sky Dome. Is Sky Dome is how Vue, and Bryce opperate; it's the shape of the scene, a it's outer edges. WHen this Sphere is mapped, properly, what you see looks like a normal 2D background; but actually it is the inside of a sphere you are really looking at.

Been working in (trying to create would be a better term) indoor scenes exclusively so far. Need to start thinking about outdoor scenes "soon" for a project I have underway.
You have Infinity Cove 3.0, Cyclorama and Mil Environment as 3 different background tools I have found.
Anybody want to chime in why I should zero in on one of these vs the others. Or should I just forget these and go with something like Vue.
Because the indoor scenes are more close up will probably generate the final renders in C4D. These outdoor scenes most likely will have the main character semi close up with the background off in the distance behind them and I think I can render these and get the results I want straight out of Poser 7
I live in Northern Nevada, where I we have lots of different terrains that I can go out and shoot my own images. Mountains, desert, farm land, lakes, modern and rustic buildings, etc.
TIA for any advise.
