Subject: Merged figure V4 and the cat legs from creature creator add-on.

I have a cat girl who uses V4 and the cat style leg from the V4 creature creator add-on. I have some problems using it, I could conform the legs to V4 but then I had to move the hidden V4 legs to move the figure, I could parent the hip of the legs to the hip of the figure but that gave even more problems then you bent the hip.

Then I looked at the legs I found that the tights almost fit V4 hips and I got the idea, make a modified version of the tights that fit v4 hip, replace them and the rest of the leg with the animal legs and change the joint parameters to the values for the cat legs.

I did something similar then I made a V2 ponygirl, but it only affected the feet and calves.

But I have run into a strange problem, the creature legs has only a start point for twist and many other joint parameters. The end point is disabled, can anybody help me how to pass this problem?

I have also noticed another dangerous bug, sometimes I have made changes to character objects in poser with changing the material zones it has changed the original figure.

How can this happen? Can it be that I don’t save the changed figure as a CR2 but just as a poser savefile?

I’m afraid to damage the V4 figure.

If you change the geometry in Poser, it makes a copy of the original OBJ file and points the saved CR2 at it - so there's no risk of messing up your installed figure. The new OBJ will be in the same folder as the CR2.

Thank you, I had one figure that I changed the material zones on saved it in a poser pz3 file.

After that the mat zones was changed on the cr2.

I found that I was wrong about the joint parameters, will probably edit the cr2 file directly it would be less chance for copy/paste and mixing up things.

Will also do the obj file first and the cr2 later, must take backup and upgrade to V4.2 first.

I think Yamato, well-known Japanese Poser artist, did a set of instructions for putting a V2 head onto a V3 body. The way that conformers work, the start/end structure of each conforming bone has to match. You might have to tweak the parameters around the boundary joint. The Creature sets are about the only thing I know of that makes V4 worth using. I'm told I'm weird.

I like V4, like her much better than V3, find her easier to work with.

How do you handle the creature legs? As you understand I find them annoying to pose, do you conform them to V4 legs? Annoying that they don’t fit V4 hip directly, the creature legs figure is a few % to large.

Almost done with her, has do redo her hip because I changed the geometry so morps don’t work on it anymore.

She poses extremely well for having non standard legs. Even pretty extreme standard V4 poses looks natural, only have to change her foots a bit because her paws are her foots now.

I still have one minor issue; I got a texture seam between her thighs and hip, will have to modify the textures to make them fit better, was thinking about remapping the hip in uvmapper and use the creature legs texture for the hip but the thighs-hip seam would probably be less visible. I also want to recolor the hear, would like more stripes to match her fur.
