Subject: Any figure with Asian face for V3 or SP3?

imagination304 ( ) posted Mon, 18 February 2008 at 1:57 AM · edited Fri, 14 February 2025 at 6:11 PM

Hi all,

Are there any figure with Asian face for V3 (SP3) and M3 (David 3)?

Thanks in advance
:)

The one I like the most is the character pack "Satoko" by toshiyo http://www.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/index.php?ViewProduct=40793&vendor=200345 Image Hosted by ImageShack.us She can be the face on your DAZ character or you can use her with her own body. She is made for use both ways. A very cool character.

Try these, they are free. More Vietnamese, but still very Asian.

Khryss makes some very nice asian figures. I've been using JieJie for one of my stock characters.

I really really like Satoko as well, I find the promos on the product page don't do her justice, they don't really show all that can be done with her , her versatility and what a beautiful asian figure she is.

Hi Lucie. It was your image "Japanese beauty" that originally sold me on Satoko. It's amazing what you can do with her. http://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/index.php?image_id=1054566 Wow you've done more. Beautiful image! http://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/index.php?image_id=1165454&member Hehee... Maybe I'm enjoying this to much but wow another stunning one of her. http://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/index.php?image_id=1121756&member

One asian female that rarely rates a mention in discussions like these is Maya Doll, she's beautiful and and she's FREE .... .. only thing is she's not compatible with Unimesh characters.

imagination304 ( ) posted Wed, 20 February 2008 at 4:57 AM

@mathman: What is the problem of "not compatible with Unimesh characters"? Could we use Maya Doll in poser in the same way as Victoria 3?

Thanks in advance

You can use MayaDoll in Poser, but she is a different mesh and therefore not compatible with any of the Unimesh characters ... in other words, she cannot take the morphs and textures of the Unimesh characters.

Having said that though, I believe someone has remapped MayaDoll's UVs to take V2 and V3 textures. You should check the website that I posted previously carefully. I think you might find those there.

Hi mathman,

What is "unimesh"?
Is this important in modelling?

Thanks in advance

mathman ( ) posted Wed, 20 February 2008 at 4:14 PM

Unimesh is the mesh that is shared by all of the 3rd generation DAZ characters. This includes Vic3, Michael3, David3, Stephanie Petite 3, Aiko3 and Hiro3.

I'm not sure if this is a good answer, so perhaps someone else can elaborate on this a little more ?

AnAardvark ( ) posted Thu, 21 February 2008 at 12:19 PM

The unimesh figures can all share the same body textures. Also, clothing generally fits only the figure(s) it was made for, and the DAZ figures (Vic3 and Vic4 especially) have a lot of clothes for them. Also, there are a lot more morphing possibilities for the DAZ figures. Mayadoll is nice, but there really is very little support for her, or even Animedoll -- a handfull of characters, a smattering of clothes. (Most of the links to Maya Doll outfits are dead now.) If you want to render the same figure, wearing the same few sets of clothes, over and over again, Anime or Maya Doll is probably fine. On the other hand, if you want variety, Vic4 is probably the way to go.

From above, it seems that uniMesh means "universial mesh" for different figures.
Body textures of  unimesh could be shared, but not clothing.

Thank you, all of you.
:)

My favorite "Asian" character is "Amy"; she is free & there are versions for A3LE & V3 SAE (no morph packs required!). http://www.renderosity.com/mod/freestuff/index.php?user_id=218257 {Not that you can tell, ... but; that is the A3LE version in my avatar...} (:

... I too have Amy, she seems to have a problem with a stray vertex, though.
