THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Subject: Bryce image showcase.

dhama ( ) posted Wed, 20 February 2008 at 8:29 AM · edited Sat, 09 November 2024 at 10:00 AM

I will soon have a working server at home, and amongst other things i'd like to showcase Bryce art. Now I could search through Renderosity and find what I thought was the best images in Bryce. Firstly this would take a long time, and secondly it wouldn't be a true, but biased accetance of what is good in Bryce art.

So here it is, I would like your help if possible. Now I'm not asking for everyone to search the archives for the best Bryce art, I want to know what Bryce scene blew your socks off.

I would like to showcase maybe 100-150 possibly, but I guess there are thousands of posibilities to choose from, so that number might rise eventually, but for now 100-150 would be great.

Styles aren't a factor here, but scenes that were only rendered in Bryce and don't really contain much of the home grown goodies that Bryce has to offer won't be in the showcase.
I'd like a broad range, from SciFi to nature landscapes, or abstract or constructed objects/scenes....in fact anything that Bryce is capable of.

The main criteria are Bryce scenes made with Bryce stuff..... imported objects are acceptable, as long as it isn't like mentioned before; this will be a Bryce showcase after all.

So what is the Bryce scene that you consider to be a cornerstone of what Bryce really is capable of?

Links or posted images would work, but perhaps just links in this thread instead to keep the loading time of the thread to a minimum. Don't know if that would be a problem here but it was at other forums.

Lastly, thanks for taking part. 👍

First please remember you can not use a image from here  unless you get the permission of the artist who own the copyright to their images. This could get you in big trouble.

@SndCastie: Well this would be a showcase, and it would be illogical not to get permission first, that goes without saying. The artist is just as important as the image itself, and above all, permission will be sought before anything gets uploaded.

Thanks Bryster I will take a look.

Good show dhama...wish I had some Bryce work to show but it's shut down my workstation twice trying to render an image for the current challenge...I mean completely shut down...the whole freakin computer...sigh...maybe the computer but it don't happen with Imagine3D or TG2TP so I'm left to think it's Bryce cuz both of those are also piggish resource wise as well.. ...

Bryster...1024 ain't enuff...funny tho that it don't crash my e machine with only 512 RAM...but it's running XP as opposed to w2k on the workstation....I really think that my machine may just need cleaning out...stuff builds up and I've been involved in a couple of large image, image intensive projects which have to stay on the workstation till I can afford a new USB external drive...Any recommendations there by the way? I really can't just archive this stuff as I need it on an ongoing basis for the project I'm hired to do, so essentially they're renting space on my computer for free...maybe I should charge more but I've already signed a contract to do this and can't in good conscience up my rate mid project...altho I understand this is done when they build roads and bridges...LOL.. ...

Hi Bobby. You should be able to get a USB 2.0 drive enclosure for pretty cheap, as in the example above. You can slap nearly any old spare drive into 'em, and they're also handy for retrieving files. My nephew's system went down, and he needed some crucial files for a presentation, so I just slapped his hard drive into an extra drive enclosure I had and burned his files off ontp a DVD for him. I spend a little more for mine, but I like the extra features such as a built-in fan and power switch.

I hope my work in Bryce is good enough for you to include. Almost all of them in my gallery are done in Bryce with imported items from Poser and 3ds Max at times but for the record, I really do use Bryce exclusively,  but not enough to make me a non-heretic. 😉

You are welcome to anything in my gallery that you think is worthy.

Ok, it seems people have misunderstood what I am looking for. I would like someone, anyone to give me a link to a Bryce scene, one that they think is the best Bryce art they have seen so far.
I am thankful for people who say I can go look at their gallery and choose what I like, but the thing is, as I said,* I* would just give a biased opinion to what is the best Bryce art. So you see I really need people to point me in the direction of a piece of Bryce made art that they have already found, possibly it lies in their favourites gallery, but suffice to say, that is what I am hoping for.

So to recap: What is your all time favourite Bryce scene/art.

Dhama:
sorry, I'm not good with links . . .
but Rockr is one of the best Brycers you're likely to get to give you permission to use his works for your intended purpose. In my opinion the only one better is someone who goes or went by the online name of Hobbit - and I think Rockr could match him with the right inspiration.

how's that old Eagles song go again ? ?

Ah yes!!

"Desperado, why dont you come to your senses?
You been out ridin fences for so long now
Oh, youre a hard one
I know that you got your reasons
These things that are pleasin you
Can hurt you somehow

Don you draw the queen of diamonds, boy
Shell beat you if shes able
You know the queen of heats is always your best bet

Now it seems to me, some fine things
Have been laid upon your table
But you only want the ones that you cant get

Desperado, oh, you aint gettin no youger
Your pain and your hunger, theyre drivin you home
And freedom, oh freedom well, thats just some people talkin
Your prison is walking through this world all alone

Dont your feet get cold in the winter time?
The sky wont snow and the sun wont shine
Its hard to tell the night time from the day
Youre loosin all your highs and lows
Aint it funny how the feeling goes away?

Desperado, why dont you come to your senses?
Come down from your fences, open the gate
It may be rainin, but theres a rainbow above you
You better let somebody love you, before its too late"
