Has anybody been to the Xfrog Forum lately?

It consists of one post complaining about Greenwork's lack of customer service.

I have Xfrog, (haven't used in a looog while) and I'm bit curious about the program's fate.

I'd post this in the Xfrog forum, but it seems nobody's home. :(

Yes, the XFrog forum here is dead. I have XFrog as well and they have quite an active support group within Yahoo Groups that I belong to. There is a fellow on there by the name of Orio which I beleive is either owner or works for Greenworks and he pops in there quite often. It is great software for vegatation but I find it is next to impossible to find tutorials on the net to help and learn the software.  If you go to google and type in "Bryce Tutorials" you get hundreds of sites where you can download helpful information. Do this with XFrog and all you get is how to use or install the add ons for high end proggies like Maya, 3DS Max, and C4D, nothing on how to create trees or vegatation on the standalone product. One of the biggest issues with the user community on this software is the liscenceing. I purchased the product a while back and installed it, I then re-imaged my system a few months later and my serial number no longer worked for the re-install. It took my over a month  to iron that one one with Greenworks after my e-mails to customer support went unanswered.

It sounds as dead as the XSI forum...

Friends don't let friends use booleans.

I have an ancient version that has a program-specific export, so I really didnt' play with it that much.

Thanks croowe, I'll head over to the Yahoo Forum and take a look.

Gee, I didn't even know we had a XSI Forum here. Must be the heat.

Pakled, I suspect you have a copy of every graphics software program ever made! ;)

You're as bad as me when it comes to software. :D

Thanks guys!

well, back when I had money, I'd go get those Brit Art mags (3d world, Digit, Computer Art, et al), and they'd have free versions of a lot of programs. I think it's 3d world has a free version of Carrara 5 right now (but am too broke to get it..;)

I am a bit of a packrat; I've got hundreds of programs (probably a good couple dozen modelers, at least) backed up on CD here and there...still keep using the heretical Wings...

Same thing with me. I'm a damn software pig too. I've got some really ancient stuff that goes back to the early '80s.

All of it freeware, since $ are tight (still are) :(

Did my first work with Povray 2.0 and an old version of Moray. Still have all my old renders on 5.25 floppies. Good thing I have an old machine with a 5.25 drive. :)

Geeze, I still have a dozen or so DOS based modelers and render engines among other graphics junk, not to say all the stuff I made on those old disks. This weekend might be a good time for me to save them to to 1.44 disks, then to my hard drive and on to a CD.

Might be I find some cra...err fantastic works of art that will become the stuff of legend.

Wonder if The Bryster would notice if I posted some old Povray renders and passed them off as Bryce?

Oh, by the way, I still use Povray 3.6 and Moray 3.5 from time to time. Nice little modeler that Moray. Exports mesh models (3DS) as I remember and imports 3DS among other types. Even better now since it's free.

PS:

Hey pakled, you don't think The Bryster might read this post do you?

Just wondering that's all.

Jack
