Subject: Is there a way to hide All Props in a scene easily OR is there a script?

For a part of my project i need to separate 2 elements of my movie and save individuatlly as Transparent movie clips. The two things i'm talking about are the  environment and the main character(s).

This is cause i will make loads of crowds using layers in Final cut ... and i need to sometimes insert crowds so that they look behind( farther away) than the character. So in other words the environment movie layer will be layed .. then the crowds... then the main character.. Then possibly more crowds in front of the main characters.

There is no other way than to do what i'm saying. save environment and main characters as separate layers.   My crowds will be tons of animated characters..which i will achieve by layers as i said.

So in saving my environment and my main character layers to a movie clip.. i need to make the main character invisible for one movie clip.. and in the other movie clip i need to make all the environment invisible.

Is there a script or somethign that could help..any tricks?  It would be tedious having to click every element in my scene just to make it invisible

thanks

What about using the hierarchy window? Just toggle the visiblity on and off.
