This is as normal as it can get here. Normal forest. I was wandering (..actually, I was bit drunk and have just finnished sliding/jumping down in sandy ridges, it was really fun with sledge, and tramping back to cottage) and realized that, hey, wow, what a light. The perfect moment in that day. There are nothing to see, but somehow, I like this piece. Postwork with Photoshop. .n

How to go sledding in sand......and this beautiful image...sort of dreamy and far away....a place that is safe...

You need huge sand pit, sandy ridge or what you will call it. Huge hole in the ground where sand have been mined away. And a sledge. Then, hop on the sledge and let the downhill suck you. Speed gets really high, and the sledge is useless after few rides. Another fun thing is run like moose and take a huge leap from edge of the mine. Feels like flying, and soft, diagonal sand cushions your touchdown like snow, even from great heights. ...sounds ridiculous, and it may be it, but it was really fun. It was. .n

Doesn't sound ridiculous, it's a great shot of a perfect place. The light is awesome.

Thats it Fred, I didn't want to say it......I felt kinda looped and happy looking at it......then with a few in me, I grab the sled and fly into the SAND!!!!!!

isn't it nice when somebody can imagine what you did, and your ideas and feelings when looking at a pic? LOL....

LOL - we have big sand dunes VERY close by, and as kids (ie. last summer...) we would take MASSIVE running jumps off the top & roll down - you could easily fall as much as 15 feet without even getting a bruise! So much fun. Doesn't have the same effect in the city with those bmx ramps, though.......ouch..

Whatever happened to sliding down hills covered with dried brown grass in cardboard boxes? You people all seem to enjoy some strange radical form of childhood. Bsteph

I've done that too. Well - sort of. The challenge wasn't rolling DOWN the sand hill, it was climbing up. Man that was exhausting! Every time we managed to work our way up we slipped down a little. All in good fun though :)
