Subject: Library Options Menu - 'Props' Grayed Out

Ricky_Java ( ) posted Sat, 01 March 2008 at 11:52 AM · edited Wed, 25 December 2024 at 2:15 AM

I like to use P7's Library Options Menu to navigate through my 27 GB external runtime library, but recently I noticed that the 'Props' item is grayed out there. There are 22,000 files totaling 0.9 GB in the Props directory.

I switched to the default Runtime, and 'Props' is not grayed out there. I've tried moving subdirectories with recently-added props out of the problem Props directory and restarting Poser, but to no avail. Also, Poser isn't asking me to "Build folder menus", though it has asked that in the past.

I can still get to my Props by the traditional method of clicking the Category Name and working my way through the Category Listings, but it's slow with the hierarchical subdirectory structure I've built there.

Any thoughts or suggestions to fix this?

Thanks,
RJ

Have you tried creating a new external runtime?

I hadn't thought of creating a new one. I don't have room on my secondary hard drive for a copy of my one external runtime, but I do have about 8 GB available for a smaller directory structure for testing purposes. I'll give that a try.

Thanks,
RJ

Yea, just create a new one to test with, and place a few items in it, see if the props library shows normally then..that might narrow the problem down.

I'm not sure how much the runtimes will hold before problems crop up, but I have heard there is a limit.
