Using the morph tool would be the way to go I think. Its the icon that looks like a hand with the index finger pointing. Select it, select create then experiment with the perameters untill you get the reults you want.
You could probably also do it in the cloth room if your up for a lot of experimentation.

Thanks so much the morphing tool was the key.
First off for magnets, you want to select the mag zone and change the Display > Element Style > Wireframe. You will be able to see what your doing. Also set the magnet and mag base to Outline.
Add a magnet to the arm. Parent it to the finger. Now in the mag properties tab, you will see a button, "Add Element to Deform." select the other body group you want it to work on. you need to go through this step again for each added body group.
This is the best way for animations. There are threads on how to do this older than the one Acadia refers to if you want to see how it got started.
Now if it is a still image, the morph brush would be the easiest way.

I have a scene where the character is grabbing their arm firmly. I want to create dents in the skin where the finger tips are to show that the grip is firm. Am I supposed to use magnets to do this? If so I added a magnet to my scene but I can't see the magnet anywhere on the preview screen. Under props I see Mag Base 1, Mag 1, and Mag Zone 1 ... But if I scale them bigger I cannot see them anywhere on the preview screen. It is also VERY difficult to select these magnets since I have so many props in the scene. I have to scroll all the way down in the menu. Also I don't even see these magnets in the hierarchy editor, no matter what check is selected.
Any feedback would be much appreciated.
Update: I found the magnet. It gets placed based on what figure you have selected.
