Subject: GND4 Outfits Wishlist

Conniekat8 ( ) posted Fri, 07 March 2008 at 12:03 PM · edited Mon, 20 January 2025 at 4:30 PM

So... I'd like to 'poll the audience'...
If you guys have outfits that you'd like to see for GND4 (or even GND2), please chime in.

I have couple unfinished outfits I started for GND2, and I think I'll convert them to GND4 (or maybe make it for both)
Or if I get excited enough, I'll make something totally new.

(This is not just for me to make, but if anyone else wants to grab the idea and run with it, go for it)

Shorts for the Daisy Duke outfit... This one was a collaboration with someone whom sort of fell out of touch, so If I can't re-establish contact I may have to remodel the parts that they did (which is no-biggie).

Oh yes, I like the look of those shorts Connie, it'd be great if you could continue with those!

I have an outfit in mind that'll look great for GND4, how about the Aeon Flux outfit, totally cool!
I'll put a picture up if you need it.

Good idea this Connie.

It takes a bit of time to make the clothes, so you guys will have to put up with her walking around nekkid in the meantime.

Then, like in my upcoming Wizard Robe set, I'll make you a nice animatable 'drop them to the floor' morph, so you can take them off quikly :P

I'm not sure what you'll think of this outfit Connie but it's one I've wanted to see for some time, Aeon Flux. I think it's the perfect blend of sexy & strong.
Danie & marforno have a second skin which is good but I'd love to see a full outfit of it. I'd imagine it'd take alot of work but I'm sure it'd be a good seller.
I think the GND4 figure would look the part in this. What do others think?

RAMWorks ( ) posted Fri, 07 March 2008 at 2:45 PM

Couldn't you achieve this with a proper texture map and a fit for the GNDV4 using V4's Bodysuit??

RAMWolff - I've never really been into second skins & bodysuits, I just prefer actual clothing. This is generally better for realistic shadows etc.

Conniekat8 ( ) posted Fri, 07 March 2008 at 3:03 PM

I'm not in a spot right now to make any definitive promises, but I'd say the likelyhood of making this outfit is pretty high. Especially since making a skin tight piece could go fairly quickly.

I could model her around GND body, then make a few other Major figure morphs... like Alice and A4 (which others?)  I never noticed if Pretty 3D did a V4 version.
And of course, some generic V4 body morphs too.

I need to see if I need to stay away from too much exactness on the outfit - for copyright reasons. You know... the 'inspired by' vs. copied from issues.

Yeah, I forgot about that. Fingers crossed you'd be able to make something very similar if there's a problem.

For small full body renders and far-away shots, yes.
For closeups, you can't, because you can't mimic the pieces that are supposed to be away from the body, and what is in sculpting known as 'undercuts' well enough. When it's a separate piece, these details give additional dimensional feel to it.

You may be able to achieve better dimensionality with a combination of modifying geometry and adding bump mapping, similar to waht you see pro's doing on Zbrush forums. But, when you're working on a poser add on, you don't have the luxury of changing the geometry of the base character as needed. Since you can't redistribute the mesh or it's derivatives.

So the answer is yes and no... just depends on what your rendering goal is.
Lot of poser users tend to like closup and extreme close-up type detail.

The thing is I work in Vue 6 Infinite & attempt to get as much detail as I can so proper outfits are the way to go because I find the real geometry is much more realistic to the eye because they interact with the light from various angles.

You know, what's kind of cool about that outfit is that I have been on a Victorian kick for a while now... and the outfit has a modelr look with victorian corset type detailing. Very interesting :D

You're right, it does in a way. So this would just be an extension of what you've already been doing. Cool!

This is the 2nd skin from Danie & Marforno which always reminded me of the Aeon Flux outfit. It's a really good texture but to have the outfit would be so much better.

no, no, I like non-sexy clothes, actually even more then the skimpy stuff. There's so much skimpy stuff arounf here, it gets a bit boring.  I guess guys never get tired of looking at nekkid girls... but I do. Often I wish to see some fashionable pieces... stuff you can see on runways... and sometimes historic costumes.

Stormy, you're in luck - I got a copyright clearance from rendo to make the outfit. Already making a skinsuit model for the base (that's the easy part LOL)

I often like to keep 'making of' threads where people can see progress, add wishes and participate... That, and any support for things I make can be found at: http://okcrandy.com/phpBB2/index.php  under CBD products. I'll probably start something there over next few days :)

Another project I may be taking up soon is a high fashion suit for Apollo. It may have to be paired up with an or some sort of a fashionable piece for GND.
...yea, okay, out with it ... in my silly head, GND has been Apollo's girlfriend all this time... I'll probably keep toying with that theme for a while... ;)

Great news Connie!!
I'll definitely keep an eye on your progress, it was interesting seeing how your Victorian stuff came along so I know this is going to be so interesting as well. I know I can't help in the modelling process but if there's anything else I could help with just let me know. If ever you needed some promos doing, I could do that.

Often I've been told I am not your average male and yes I do get tired of seeing nekkid girls even digital ones lol! Some high fashion stuff sounds brill I also think a nice business suit and maybe some business casual for GND2 and Apollo would be nice too.

if by chance you do opt to do some kind of "skimpy stuff", would you maybe consider something a bit more retro/vintage in styling instead of the standard fair skimp?

example:

the website above has several different styles of retro-type corsets, but this gives you the idea.  i just think that GND4 has the right figure/shape to pull something like this off quite nicely...

Quite possibly THE most popular morph/character for V3, and now available for V4

i really like retro type outfits, and i think it was your pics of your shorts & top that made me think to toss that out there...  your outfit has that flair of 1950s/early 60's pin-up clothing used in ads or an outfit fit for a Vargas drawing :))

i just see GND4 as perfect for that kind of styling, most likely because of her delightful torso and thighs...

speaking of which, a nice bomber styled jacket and flight cap would be cool, too... ;)

oh, and my vote is for the bottom-left runway pic... very fashionable, and can easily double in sci-fi type scenes as well as fantasy, imo...
