if you intend on making something like a corset please create a corset bust morph, or ask me to.
a corset never looks right just modeled over the stock body... you need the boob squishupage for it to look right.

i cringe every time i see a 'corset' in the marketplace that is modeled over the base body.

the waist cinch is not absolutely necessary but the breast pushup is.

Absolutely!
Without the little pushup and a squeeze, the outfit end up looking like she's wearing something she shouldn't be wearing (droopy, no cleavage, or a boring plastic barbie cleavage). Sort of defeats the purpose of the corset.
No worries, I'm pretty picky about those kinds of details. If I'm the one to make the corset, you can rest assured I'll be bugging you about the cleavage, so we can coordinate things, and make it look good.

As I was falling asleep last night I was contemplating if that could be done with a nicely z-brushed displacement map - if it would give a satisfactory effect. The trouble with those is so many users end up using low render settings, and lose the displacement effect.
I was noticing a similar thing with the lacing on the back of the Aeon Flux outfit, in certain body positions the lacing cuts into the skin just a little.

I think with the Aeon Flux outfit & the corset it really is the details which make them so good. I know you're going to be picky about this Connie which is why you're ideal to be doing this!

And I want 'squishupage' to be put into the Oxford English Dictionary.

Might I suggest - that as well as all her own clothes - a set of morph magnets be made so we can fit her into all sorts of other clothes that are already out there?

Blackhearted ( ) posted Sun, 09 March 2008 at 9:01 AM · edited Sun, 09 March 2008 at 9:11 AM

the poser 'morphing tool' (little pointing hand icon in your toolbar) in Poser 7 is actually ideal for making something like a cleavage morph. you can set the exact falloff and get quite a bit of precision, and when you are done 2 clicks mirrors it to the other breast and exports it as a morph dial.

it doesnt work across body parts/groups but for something like the chest it is ideal. or for smoothing a joint, tweaking something, etc.

its definitely something every user of Poser 7 should get familiar with because it opens up a whole new world of customizations.

everyone who has P7 should open up a blank scene, load a lightweight figure like V3 with no textures and just mess around with the morphing tool for an hour to get the hang of it. it is incredibly useful. dont just think morphs - think hand tweaking every figure.
doing an elaborate render for the gallery that you will put a lot of time into? why not zoom in and flex the figures bicep or tricep, or pull out some calf musculature on a flexed calf (V4 already does this but it is very primitive)? if her body is twisted you could faintly flex her abs on one side... etc. the possibilities really are endless.

it would be impossible to create something like a full body morph like GND with it, but to tweak it, and customize it for your liking? its perfect.

That may be a good idea... I hope someone takes up making them, as making magnet sets is not my thing (Sowwy)

That's great advice Blackhearted is offering here about Morph Brushes for P7 users. :)

I really love all the choices here!!! And I'd personally like to see of Connie's GND2 stuff for both GND2 and GND4! And while we're at it, I'll throw in Irina2 as well. I love all three of them, and they all need bigger wardrobes.

I don't plan on trying to make anything myself, clothing wise, until D|S and C6 have their dynamic cloth modules, so I'm really looking forward to all the upcoming sets for my three favorite gals!

(btw, Gabriel, if it hadn't been for Irina2 and GND2, I may have never even joined the whole DAZ community and been stuck with the "Gals Formerly Known as eFrontier G2 Gals"

Talking of Irina 2 I really would like to see the TR outfit for GND4. There is one in the store for V4 but nowhere near the quality of Blackhearted's Adventuress.
Irina 2 had a great shape but from what I've seen of GND4 this would just so look the part.

i have posted a pic in the gallery of a conformed costume that i made a GND4 morph for using a custom built clothkit pose(currently being tweeked), and it adds morphs very well so far to all the clothing i have tried... if Blackhearted is is ok with me putting the clothkit GND expansion in the freestuff i will do so after i have finished the tweeking(probably sometime next week)

Getting old and still making "art" without soiling myself, now that's success.

stormchaser - theres more irina styled stuff coming. im not sure what i will do with the SP3 pack though, ill see what i can do.

That's great news Gabriel!! The Irina package is one of the best purchases I've made here.
Do you think if the Adventuress package had been for V3 it might have been more popular or did it sell really well anyway? I just got the impression alot of people didn't like SP3 & so may have missed it.
Anyhow, anything similar for V4 will be great!

Thanks. I might have to do something about my sig as the file size does seem to be too big for here. The frame rate is a bit slower than it should be. It is pretty cool though, so I'd like to keep it if I can.

Joe-B-Wan ( ) posted Wed, 12 March 2008 at 11:45 PM

Great news on the design team front, I have a super experienced rigger.. a rigging Wizard if you would working with me, and a character texturer!  That frees me up to design, model and texture clothes,  (which is where my strengths lay)
This means we'll be getting things done faster :D

I'd love to see something sci-fi.  Something along the lines of Appleseed Ex Machina or Ghost in the Shell would be awesome.  Royloo already did an Ex Machina outfit for V4 which could easily be converted to GND4, but something else in that style would be great.

Thank You Thank You Guys and Gals, I'm glad you like iot so far :)

It's going to have that little top vest, and the Gun holster. I think I'll make shoes separate so the outfit can be mixed with other shoes (like Treads etc.)   I love the Aeon outfit, except for the shoes, they're kind of yuck... But, I'll make them too.

I think I'll make the hand bandage I see her having... maybe couple other little extras. :)

It's great Connie that you're making as many parts of the outfit as you can.
Will the top vest be a separate item or is the whole suit one figure?

Conniekat8 ( ) posted Mon, 17 March 2008 at 6:38 PM

Yea, I'll make the Vest separate fropm the Pant-Top, and the Holster will be on it''s own, and shoes will be separate. That way they can be used in more different ways.

I may make a version with and without the detail (if it doesn't prove to be a huge pain) I'm still thinking about it.

After I model and UV map it all, I'll add some wrinkle and movement morphs :) and will add as many V4 morphs as practical.

stormchaser ( ) posted Mon, 17 March 2008 at 7:06 PM

The wrinkle morphs will be ideal Connie, this kind of detail adds that extra touch!
Can I ask how much detail is being put into the textures & will you just be using black?
Also, aside from the obvious GND morph have you got the 'fitness' morph as a definite in mind? I just feel that if someone doesn't have the GND then this morph would be one of the best basic shapes to go with.

Conniekat8 ( ) posted Mon, 17 March 2008 at 9:46 PM

I'm sure there will be more textures then just the black. I don't have any specific ones planned yet, but I can never settle on just one. I think my standard thing will be to include at least two or three.  Usually as many I can stuff into a 70 Meg zip, after all the meshes and morphs are in there. I like making textures, so it's very likely I'll do the same as the Wizard Robe - make an add-on texture pack too (there's one in the pipeline for the wizard)

I usually max out the texture size (4000x4000) with nice separation into mat zones, Usually each piece has it's own Map.

Another thing I think I will make 'standard' in clothing that I make is have about two dozen empty INJ channels, in case I or anyone else decides to add morphs to it. (I did that with the wizard Robe already).

About Morphs, I usually go through four rounds of making Morphs. One is cloth simulations (usually from Max) for natural looking wrinkles and various motion caused distortions.

Second one is to run it through Morph Transfers from the Base Figure (V4), and incorporate as many morphs as look good on the character. Definately fitness morphs. Very likely other 'known' character body styles, like Alice etc...

Third Round is to make any additional hand sculpted morphs that I think would come in handy. I dunno, maybe rolled up sleeves and pants, maybe shorts, maybe making the Vest part disappear or make it short sleeve version. Make detail disappear in case someone wants a clean look. Some wrinkles just don't look right unless hand done.

Fourth round is to add any JCM's if/where needed

Then, I almost always make use of displacement maps too - for finer wrinkles or adding dimension clothing.  I'm sort of dead set on creating pretty high-end product.  ;)

I don't know what to add Connie, you have everything covered!
Seriously, it's great you're taking everything into consideration. It's good to hear you'll be doing high quality textures & displacement maps. I just know I'll be going to town with it when I get it inside Vue!
It's interesting you mentioned the Alice morph. As well as GND4, Alice has an interesting body shape which would look good in the suit.
I don't buy that much Poser stuff these days so when I do it has to be a good standard. On the clothing front, I personally love AerySoul. I've got virtually everything they made for V3 & some for V4. The quality in their designs, morphs & textures are what stood them apart from the rest. We are seeing alot more quality coming through these days from other vendors as well. It's refreshing to hear you striving for the highend of the market. I think people are generally prepared to pay that bit extra for that bit extra.
I hope after your achievements with the Wizards Robe & this upcoming product you'll be getting a name for yourself.
And I don't just mean Bad Kitty!

I couldn't agree more. Connie's stuff is looking fantastic! I don't use Apollo much, but I really like the Windy Wizard Robe.

It's funny you mentioned the "bad kitty' thing. The first time I saw Connie's sig, it reminded me of my last cat.
We knew he'd be getting into stuff and getting on our nerves, plus when he was a kitten we had trouble getting him to eat, so we decided to name him Damyu S. Cat. (the "S" stands for stupid).
We were quite fond of Damyu, but the name proved to be perfect for him. (it kept actual cursing down to a minimum)
