Ok, this thread has been **dead** for several days... On that note I've decided to **inject** it with some **life**.  I hope I don't upset anyone with this... 😊 This isn't actually my picture, one of my good  friends shared it with me (it's his finger - yes he said it hurt) and it fits the prompt. Below me is some ancient pottery... maybe even painted? ;)

Here is my favorite painting. It is about 80 years old and my mom painted it, while she was taking lessons at a local painter as a young woman.

Tha picture below is your nicest china.

auntietk ( ) posted Sat, 22 March 2008 at 10:30 AM

I'm so glad I asked!  That's a wonderful painting, made even more special because your mother painted it.  Thanks, Helle!

I gave all the china to my brother, because he and his partner entertain all the time and I never do, and it was just taking up space.  That was about twelve years ago, and today is the first time I've ever thought it would be nice to have it!  LOL!  Hardly worth keeping the stuff around just for a picture.  :)

helanker ( ) posted Sat, 22 March 2008 at 10:59 AM

Thank you Tara. :)))
I do love the little painting and ofcause mostly because my mom made it :)

Well I am sure your brother apreciated your china and then everything is fine, isnt it? :)
If my son didnt get all my mother in laws china, and gave it to us, I didnt have any either.
I never wanted to collect any, because it is so expensive, that if I should have a b-day present with the china I like, which is exactly this one, I would have 100 tiny ashtrays. and nothing else. That is why I never wanted to collect any.  I started once in my first marriage with something that I do NOT like today. :)

Ok now I took a shot of it, so if nobody comes up with any, I got one my self. LOL!

OH this is such a fun game :)

LovelyPoetess ( ) posted Sat, 22 March 2008 at 10:45 PM

file_402571.jpg

Well, here is my good "stoneware", will that work? I don't own any china either. Never have, it always seemed over the top extravagant to eat off of a plate that cost more than my weekly grocery budget..

Clever idea Auntie, on the photo of the photographers tool! Nice texture on your phone pole too.
Lovely picture Helanker, more lovely is the sentimental value of it.

Now excuse me while I imagine having a puff off on awjay's pretend cigarettes (aka pen) after nibbling halibut followed by chocolate eggs for dessert!

Below me is a photo of part of your door, knob, knocker, keyhole, hinge, window, eyepeep hole, or the whole darn thing, your choice  : )

:unsure:Ok Scott 😄 - we're always interested in new players...  but  😕 I think possibly you missed the rules 😊...  So let me be a welcoming participant and explain  :  In order to post we are supposed to try to "answer" the previous poster's "query" for a specific subject/object/mood with a picture that we have in our collections.  In the instance I don't have a pic that fits, I wait for someone else to answer it (or I could get really creative 🆒).

For example - to answer LovelyPoetess' request for "a photo of part of your door, knob, knocker, keyhole, hinge, window, eyepeep hole, or the whole darn thing," I would upload this pic of a gothic door - my wife has a thing for doors.

Then I would ask to see a kitty and you would post your cute little feline😄 and make your query.
Since you asked for a precious moment... :woot:Let that be the next pic....

Sickmind69 ( ) posted Mon, 24 March 2008 at 7:42 AM

Gotcha! and thank you I was replying to LovelyPoetess's comment about photos and a thousand words and was waiting for permission to join the fun! As for BAT CAT...I used it as an emotioncon!(looks like he waiting for a question to be answered!)  I wanted to join the fun! smiling!

This is one of my dining room chairs.  (I don't know why I call them that - I don't actually have a dining room.  One is in my bedroom, one is in my office, and two are in the kitchen!)  I did the needlepoint on the seat cushions myself, and each one is different.  (If you have a burning need to see them all, I posted shots of them in my gallery last year - February 5, 6, 7 and 8th, 2007.  If you have your page count set at 24 images per, they're on page 19.)

Show me something warm and tropical.    (It snowed here yesterday!)
