Subject: Lacriminals

shante ( ) posted Thu, 20 March 2008 at 11:46 PM · edited Mon, 23 December 2024 at 1:58 AM

Hi All.
A bunch of great folks are trying real hard to bring the old Zygote Centaur back to life. We got DAZ to re-release it for free. Some folks are reworking the UV Mapping and subsequent textures. Some folks are working out new morphs and expressions. I recall there was once a set of lacriminal smart props for I believe Posette we could really use if they can be made to fit we need them.
We are redoing the Cenataur eyes and the lacriminals will add some realism and with them added and the great new eye textures being developed all it can do is make this a very nice character. The more we add the better it has the potential of getting.
So please if you want to get involved in this small and hopefully growing community effort, stop on by to the DAZ Freepository

http://forum.daz3d.com/viewtopic.php?t=80669&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0

and jump into the thread and let us know what you can do or where we might improve this character. And if anyone remembers where these lacriminals props might be found please let me know.

Thanks!

Hiya, the eyes are my project... yea, if there is a link to the old lacrimals I may be able to fit them to the Centaur or perhaps Randy can make it more permanent.  Please let us know! 😄

:) Not really sure! Maybe the spelling? I just could not find it in the tiny dictionary I have on my desktop and someone from the thread spelled it like that so I corrected my spelling.
Anyway lets just call the damn things:
Pink-Tear -Duct -Thingies-In -The-Inner -Corner -Of -The-Eyes!   LOLOL
Where are they!!!!!?????     :)

BTW Like the look of your Naragon character. Does it work in P4?

Interesting reading the quote you have in your post. Doesn't it come from one of the Arthur Movies? It was the Witch/Sorceress mothers spell for fog during the battle between Mordred and Arthur...right!?   :)

I think the Narg would work in Poser 4, except for the displacement maps, of course.

My NEA ena (1)  has lacrimals as bodyparts ,you may use those in your project, just export the bodypart 😉

And if he is based on Dork you can use any of my Domus 2.1 morphs also 😉

He's based off of the old Muscleman from Zygote.  So not sure as I wasn't around the community that far back!

That face looks exactly like Dork, my guess is that head morphs might work if transfered with morph manager...

P3 Nude Man or P4 Nude Man, I have them..... Which one though??  If I could transfer morphs over to the Centaur that would be so cool.  If I can do that how do you add in the channels so they actually work though??  I've run into this before where the transfer was successful and the dials show but then nothing happens when the dial is spun.  Someone explained to me that the channels were probably not created.

😕

Thanks much!!  😄

Everyone has a Dork on the Runtime! He is the P4 male, he comes with every poser installation! But even if you don't have him in surface you can transfer the morphs anyway 😉

If the head mesh is exactly the same (it looks the same) and you move morphs with Morph Manager morphs will morph, if you try to import .obj morphs those will include x-y-z positioning too and the head will be moved... Give it a try 😉

I'm playing with him right now in Studio.  ACK, his leg rigging is pretty bad or it's the mesh.  I even added in some subD and while it helped still not to hard to make the legs look bad.  Also, there is this horrible bend in the mid back region when bent too far back he looks like he's ready to crack in half.  Mind you I'm using the canned poses that came with the installation but still!!

If the shape is quite the same you can try with the "Tailor" program . Since I never seen the "Centaur" I can't try it by myself...

About lacrimals I don't know if they are really necessary, However I remember to have seen a couple of smart props at Posetteforever for P4Woman, even if I think that exporting them from NEA is the best option...
