Subject: Texture Manager not working

In Poser 7, whenever I try to manual add a texture to a material, the program is completely locking up.   Does anyone have a fix for this?

If you start a new scene, load a primitive prop, and go to Materials room does this still happen?  I hadn't had that happen before - it's not connected to a specific model is it?

Well that was the easy option :)  If you are on a PC, I believe Poser uses the OS standard file dialog function calls to make the File Browser dialog, and if that is causing Poser crash then I suspect you have other problems besides.  Are you able to do File -> Open in some program like Notepad, and drill for a file?

If you're on a Mac it may behave completely differently, I suspect it works the same way but I don't know.

Sorry, I had to go to bed.  Yes, on my PC I am able to open files from other programs.

Then it sounds to me like some part of your Poser installation has become damaged or misconfigured - while there might be a fix for this I have no idea what or where it would be.  I think you probably ought to contact EF support - I suspect they will tell you something like "reinstall Poser" but better you get it from them.
