Wow!  Beautiful needlepoint Tara, I would be scared to sit on them.

TomDart ( ) posted Sat, 29 March 2008 at 12:59 PM

Oops, I posted a chair..now deleted. It is in post anything. My wife destroyed it.

LovelyPoetess ( ) posted Sat, 29 March 2008 at 3:21 PM

Beautiful needlepoint you've done on that chair! And the chair back reminds me of the table that was featured in the movie "Regarding Henry", it could be part of the dining set.

So where do they go when a photograph leaves you speechless?

Gorgeous chair!  Beautiful work there...

TomDart ( ) posted Sat, 29 March 2008 at 7:06 PM

I have an antique "bench" made of walnut which has needlepoint covering it beautifully. This came from my mother.  I do appreciate the fine work on the chair!

Three of my ex workmates doing a fifty mile bike ride for the British Heart Foundation. It's called over the edge, quite a few steep hills on it, all going up, only a few going down. Scanned image.

Show me a gate/gateway.

I'll probably be able to get a picture of people eating at an outdoor cafe ... in about two months!  LOL!  It's cold here!

JeffG7BRJ ( ) posted Sun, 06 April 2008 at 4:57 AM

Cold here as well Tara, an inch of snow on the ground when I got up this morning. Most has melted but still some out back on the north side.  Nobody in their right mind will be eating outdoors. Apart from the homeless.

Here is a picture of my very best friend, Hanne. We have been friends since we were 4 and 5 years old. We grew up as neighbours and played together. Later we went out together as adults and later she married and moved to Grand Canaria, but still we have been friends in all these years. Her mom still lives in the apartement above the home of my childhood, where my youngest son now lives.  Yes Hanne is my dearest friend. But I have MANY MANY other lovely friends. :)

helanker ( ) posted Tue, 08 April 2008 at 10:17 AM

OPPPPSSS !!! Show me your favorite pottery, vase, bowl, something like that.

MGD ( ) posted Tue, 08 April 2008 at 12:13 PM

This is a simple earthenware bowl.

Although It seems empty, it is full of memories.

I purchased it in the late 1980's to hold apples on my desk -- and that had the
expected side effect of my co-workers ... borrowing ... an apple now and then.

I purchased it in a small department store -- one of many convenient stores in
the ground level concourse of the building where I worked ... in lower Manhattan.

Although simple and common, this bowl is irreplaceable ...

You see ... that store, the concourse, the two towers, that entire complex
of buildings no longer exists.

All I have is this empty bowl ... full of memories.

The picture below me is something more uplifting than my somber submission.

... and I think manipulations are just fine!  It's a category that's available to us as photographers, and this is for fun, anyway.  Shoot - you should see what we do in DITI!

I see that auntietk advised,

I think manipulations are just fine!

Yeah ... so did my xWife ... she was an expert at manipulation ... too bad for
me that I stopped resisting ... that must have taken out all of the fun for her.

This chandelier is in my sister-in-law's house.  I took this shot at christmas, hence the hanging ornaments.  It's a vase for flowers, with candles on each corner.  I've always loved it - it's so elegant and unusual.

Show me a photograph you've been wanting to post, but haven't quite had the nerve to put up yet.  :)

This was taken from our hotel room which was on the fifth floor right across from the falls. What struck me as funny is that that the sound was louder way up there then when you were down right by the falls.
