Subject: How mad did you go during March Madness?

Molina00 ( ) posted Wed, 02 April 2008 at 10:21 AM · edited Sun, 26 January 2025 at 6:41 AM

With the close of March I thought it might be interesting to see how much people actually spent during this year's March Madness, and the kind of bargains we all got.  This includes all sites you buy from, not just from the MP here.

From DAZ:
Filosofy Princess---$9.98 (not a March Madness sale, but it reminded me of Princess Zelda so I had to have it :D)
DAZ Squirrel---$2.50
Amiel Hair---$1.70
Karuki for A3---$1.50
Mil Horse Bundle---$2.10 (used my DAZ 2.0 registration coupon to get this)
Nina of the Night---$1.90
Protoceratops---FREE
Wild West for M3---$2.20
Earane Outfit---$2.10 (Not my style, but I saw a render of it over the Filosofy Princess outfit, and it looked good so I bought it)
Places of Summer---FREE
10 Items---$23.98

From RMP:
FutureCop---$9.97
Kayleigh for V4---$6.00 (Couldn't pass up a discounted Halle Berry :D)
Agent Hair---$7.47
Corinne's Pro Kit I Merchant Base---$9.97
4 Items---$33.41

Total March Madness Purchases: 14 Items for $57.39 (Just over $4 an item!)

I imagine plenty of people spent more than I did, but I'm a broke college student so I'm picky about what I buy.  Anyone else who wants to post their purchases doesn't have to itemize.  I just wanted to.

I actually decided to spend money at the smaller stores seeing that they cannot allert users to new content here anymore. I spent just over $36 (USD). I will be doing the same this month, and maybe even next month.

I got the squirrel (which I've already used) and the M3 Western Outfit -- only to discover I'd bought it already four years prior.

Interesting, a $5.00 Coupon showed up in my account as I had already bought it when 1st released.
Hmmm, now "Why?" didn't it know that you had previously purchased it?

I love their stuff!  I went hog wild at their site a while back. I think I bought nearly 1/2 their store!  LOL I especially love their Christmas stuff and those carriages and horses are soooo gorgeous!

The animals at Daz ans some hair from here. I'm a sucker for good hair and figures. I don't think I have bought much from Daz after Dan Farr didn't like me posting the poser results of thier new dragon. Thier new marketing is pretty screwed and miss leading in many things now.

That new R'sity policy Bits. Those other merchants are part of the community and R'sity benefits from addons and textures and such for those originals. Not to bright as I see it. All the merchant store wars going on lately. LOL. It is tearing these communities apart.

Almost sounds like a new epic movie series.

Three people were shot dead during march madness.  It was pretty crazy but worth the risk. I rushed in and took as much as I could and just sprinted off!

Being a star wars fan I see humor in this...

I can also see this is not far from the truth. I think that the independent merchant will come out better than these "merchant guilds". Because with out the independent merchants the guilds have no power over them.
I myself have made it a habit if the independent has an online store that sell the same product from the big shop, I will buy directly from the independent. If they don't then I buy from the big shop.
I have not purchased from CP in over 2 months due to buying directly form the merchant.  There are several items here I am waiting on purchasing till the storm blows over.

I bought the cowboys outfit and then discovered my better half had already bought it a couple years back. (I don't use his box much.)
Oh well.
For me, the "March Madness" was simply a time to get mad about seeing yet another dress and critters I'll never use. (Seriously - how often do you think you use the seal? Or the squirrel?)
Not impressed.

I don't expect to use the squirrel much (if at all), but at $2 bucks and change it was too good looking of a squirrel to pass up.  You never know when something might come in handy either.  Especially with it being somewhere around $25 bucks at full-price.

Hey, where are you from?  I'm from Oklahoma so I caught your reference.  Not a big basketball fan though, more into baseball.
