Subject: Help creating shoes.

nyguy ( ) posted Tue, 08 April 2008 at 7:18 PM · edited Sun, 19 January 2025 at 2:20 AM

I am working on an outfit and want to include shoes. I have the shoes modeled but having issues getting them to work with my figure, the shoes don't correctly and don't conform. Is anyone willing to help fix this.

Don't what correctly? I think you missed out a word there. Can't answer the question until we know what it is. ;) In general terms, I'd make shoes as smart props unless they had special features that required conforming, such as leg wrappings.

An image is better  than I could explain.

Ok, they're boots, so they do need to be conforming. You'll need to expand the spherical fall-off zones for the boots' feet: the soles are distorting because they are no longer within the fall-off zones for the figure, so a borrowed joint setup will need adjustment. What's that thing sticking out of the left toe?

That is what I am trying to figure out, right now. I am taking today off of work cause my son and I are not feeling well. SO I have all day to mess with it.

Going by the colour, it looks like part of the figure's toes stretched out. I know of no way of rigging a conforming item that would distort the conformed-to figure. Can you select it? That should tell you the body part and figure, at least. I would wish you speedy recovery, but then you'd have to stop Poser-ing and go to work, so maybe I won't. :)

When I try to select it It states rtoe

The figure's rToe, I assume? Does it change when you bend the toe? I can't think why it would do that in the first place, and (given that it does) why the left toe doesn't do the same thing. You haven't inadvertently edited the figure's JPs instead of the boots'? I do that all the time. You have to select the figure to bend it, then I forget to go back to the conforming item before I tweak the JPs.

I was wrong, it is the right foot, and it is the heel

WHOOOOO HOOOOOOOO!

Figured it out. Instead of using a boot simluar to what I was creating I used V4 as donor for bones! and now works!
