I was unaware that he was now giving them away.
I edited your post to make the URL a clickable link. Hope you don't mind.

(Just a quick P7 render)

Bazze simply makes the best Poserized 3d airplanes around.
They are modelled 100% accurate in a rig using scale plans with lots of proper mesh detail but still "light".
Everything is rigged for Poser and the texturing is very high quality with lots of detail and weathering.

Another one showing of his texture work better.

Interesting to note that he's going to be using Modo.

Thanks, Bazze!

Yeah, he mentioned Modo is the preferred modeler at Massive, so he has shifted a lot of his modeling work to it both for fun and for work.

The models are wonderful. One should note that they are "For personal non-commercial use only. Comment in the guestbook required :)".

Anyone know How to convert the Cinema File, Baltic Sea, to something I can use with Poser?

Thanks

Crikey, I hadn't been to his site for some time. I was unaware that some of his great models were now free, brilliant!!

I've had my eye on the muscle car in the past, this is great.

Thanks for the heads up sandmarine.

stormchaser ( ) posted Thu, 10 April 2008 at 7:03 AM

Just wanted to add a note to thank Bazze for all these great models he has for free. I didn't realise there would be so many for download.

Also, I didn't know about his new job with Sierra/Massive. What a great move, no doubt his talent deserved it!

  • buy a copy of Cinema, or
  • approach Bazze and ask if it would be okay if someone converted it ... I can probably do that but it wouldn't be appropriate, since it's his property.  Or he may be willing to do the same, of course.

Or see if the c4d demo is save-disabled or not. if not, then you can use that to convert ti.

that's a good idea, and besides that you'd have an oppportunity to kick the tires on C4D (fabulous app).

whenever people are considering 3dsMax I always tell them to get the demo first. It's a $3500 program and you really need to be 100% sure before you lay out that kind of money.

Download the demo of C4D and get Spanki's free Riptide plugin.  Now you can export Wavefront obj from the demo using Riptide - which is the best option anyway.  (pssst - I didn't say that.)

This is great news; thanks for the heads-up. This must be very recent; I got the flight helmet about a week ago, and I'm sure they weren't available then.

If I spent $3500 dollars on a computer program the Misses would tell me to live in the box it came in. Not a program for hobbyists...LOL!

If you can legitimately claim it as a business expense, then you can use it as a tax write-off.  At least you can do that in the US.

But such an investment still needs to be very carefully considered.  Unless, perhaps, if you have money to burn......which some do.

I guess I will have to find out.

The CINEMA 4D demo version is fully functional with the exception of the following features: - Scenes, movies, textures and preset libraries and browser catalogs cannot be saved. Preferences and layouts can be saved.

  • Sketch and Toon renders are limited to a resolution no greater than 640x480 pixels.
  • The NET Render module is not included in the demo version.

UVDan, Iam GUESSING (because I haven't seen it blogged or anything), that since Bazze got this new job at sierra (congratulations, by the way), he decided to release his products for free to the 3d community just out of appreciation?? I don;t know really... but either way, I for one appreciate he does... I know it may be weird for people who already bought most of his stuff.. but well, such is life... I for one appreciate the gesture and had totally forgotten to post in his guestbook.. going there now...

and actually, Bazze is kind of one of the reason I'm considering on taking Cinema 4D as my next software to tackle.. something I've been wanting to do for ages, but all his renders in cinema4d I've seen have me convinced more than ever...
