If you edit your material in Advanced mode, and open the Graph editor on the Color tab of your material, Angle of Incidence should be one of the Input Nodes.
When I wrote this tutorial, only Vue Infinite had the Angle of Incidence node required for the full effect. I don't know if it was added to Vue 6 since then.

When I right click in the function editor, I see these options:
Add Noise Node
Add Fractal Node
Add Color Node
Add Texture Map Node
Add Filter Node
Add Constant Node
Add Turbulence Node
Add Combiner Node
Add Math Node
I want to create stepped colours, perhaps there is a way of doing this using Math nodes?
Pro Studio doesn't have the advanced material editor. But i don't know if you could use another solution Oo

So I couldn't even buy a toon material from a vendor and apply it inside Vue Pro Studio?
Doesn't look as though 'Pro' is as Professional as I thought it was :-(
Input and output nodes are not available in Pro, but you can use materials that have them, so if there is a material pack with cel shaders, you should be able to use them.
Pro studio is a big step over Esprit but there are still a lot of differences between Pro and Infinite.

In the thread linked above, you'll find as part of a free shader pack posted by Agiel a Toon Shader. You can use it in ProStudio, as the other shaders, but you won't be able to change the settings. Try it to see by yourself. So be careful if you plan to buy a material pack made for Infinite to be able to edit it ^^There is a toon shader material pack (not free, sorry) on Cornucopia3D :)

Let me know if you can edit the orange color of the toon shader in my 'pack'.
If you can't edit it, I will create a few variants with different colors.
Agiel, if you go for editing this shader, you could perhaps create some with outerline thickness variants too ;)

I can change the colour using the Color correction option.
Editing the functions gives a warning about 'advanced input nodes are only available in Vue Infinite', so changing the line thickness or colour is out.
I use olivier's art materials in poser (with semideau's shader works for instant application) froom runtimedna, then I import into vue keeping the poser shaders. Problem is you can only import one poser person at a time or vue gets the skin textures mixed up.

I have just got Vue 6 Pro Studio. I am trying to emulate toon shading.
I found this interesting tutorial here:

I cannot find the Angle of Incidence node it mentions. I assume that Pro Studio is not capable of this technique.
Is there any other way I can use to create toon shading in Vue?
