Hello :) I'm working on a little bal room (or a whatever-you-want room in fact ;) ) It'll take some time before I can finish it - don't know anything more precious than time, well, appart from friends and love of course - so the question is : Is'it worth finishing it ? Are there some people who want it ? I mean, the ding is awfully difficult to light in Poser (at least for me and I'm a really low-end Poser user I must admit :) ). Would one of the Poser magician be interested enough in this little thing to make a light set for it and make it avaiable for all people ? (Don't hope to make money, it's to go to the free stuff :) ) The future of this room is in you hands ;) J-L

I love this room...it's beautiful and I think alot of people would use it.

Lovely.. and looks very versatile.. please? as for the lighting.. use the aux camera.. back it up quite a ways... then select each light and lower it into the room... then back to the main.. for final adjustments 8 ) I find multi spots work nicely Cheers

For sure finish it. You have done a fantastic job and it looks wonderful.

lalverson ( ) posted Thu, 14 June 2001 at 6:58 AM

I'd use it as-is right now.

That room is beautiful... Please finish it! I love the windows and the archways! Outstanding!

angielyn ( ) posted Thu, 14 June 2001 at 8:59 AM

Oh I love it! And I'm with lalverson I'd use it as it is. I love those doors

My that's a beautiful room.... You have come so far - i'm amazed at what you've been doing. Never thought i'd have modeling envy. I too would take it just the way it is - incredible work, Abraham!

Oh, it's so refreshing to hear someone say that they don't care about selling something. This forum used to be so packed with messages like this one, announcing a new creation that would be available to everyone, but no longer. Thanks a ton Abraham.

I'll take it and if you need a host I will host for you as well. It's really nice work. Marque

Nicely done. If you're having trouble with lighting, try turning off Cast Shadows for the ceiling or walls.

First thanks a lot for your nice comments and for the advices for the lightning :) I think that I will leave the end users struggle with the lights, most of them are surely much better than I'm, I'm just a poor little would-be modeler, that's all, so I will leave the place to the magicians :) Ok, well, my little room is almost finished, here is how it looks by now - still in the modeler - so I just have to make it usable in Poser (I think it ll be so : on prop for the ceiling, one for the floor and one for each wall, so it'll give the much freedom. I will also try to make some textures for the floor and wall if I can find the time :) It should all be ok for saturday :) J-L

It looks amazing, you're hardly a would-be modeler. :D Thank you so much for offering to give this away! Take care! SnowS

I do not speak as a representative of DAZ, I speak only as a long-time member here. Be nice (and quit lying about DAZ) and I'll be nice too.

Abraham, As you can see, we are all drooling in anticipation. It isn't just those lovely arches and detailed bannisters, it is the stately proportions and general loveliness which is so appealing. Thank you for sharing so much with us, Carolly

Abraham, this is excellent, it will be great to see the finished product and I know we all appreciate your generosity as well as great items, thank you!

This is beautiful beautiful work! I spend and have spent a lot of time in ballrooms (a lotta ballroom and tango dancing) and this is dead on! Really captures the flavor of such places, which are excellent locations for close up interaction (DANCING!), often between people who might not otherwise do so. This would be totally excellent to get free but I personally would definitely consider buying it, pricing being reasonable of course. Terrific! Thank you for sharing! Larry F

Abraham, it took me a minute to realize that this was a model of a ballroom and not a photograph. Had it not been for the lack of textures on the floor (and I know you have not had the time to do that yet) I think this could easily pass for a real life room. You are no would-be modeler. You are one of the magicians. And a very generous man too :) Now, imagine all of the beautiful Serge Marck dresses finally having a worthy place in which to be displayed! Thanks so much for making this ballroom!! Kimberly

Wow! this is incredable, thanks! I'd snap it up in a second and thanks for your generosity. When I saw the model at first I sighed thinking it was an ad for a store item. This just blows me away...

Schlabber ( ) posted Fri, 15 June 2001 at 3:33 AM

Oh - this is looking very good - when it is ready I'll fill it up with some dancing folks ... (of course the poses for them ...)

Larry F ( ) posted Fri, 15 June 2001 at 7:13 AM

Schlabber - you familiar with Argentine tango? Got any poses for that? TIA. Larry F

robert.sharkey ( ) posted Fri, 15 June 2001 at 9:56 AM

WOW, i'm shure hope you will finish it. It's amazing . May it would be easier to light if the walls can be added as separate objects (props) SHARKEY

Schlabber ( ) posted Sat, 16 June 2001 at 7:17 AM

Larry F - just send me images or a link - and I will make the poses (schlabber@yourwap.com)
