Subject: I need to ask something...

croxie ( ) posted Thu, 17 April 2008 at 3:11 PM · edited Tue, 24 December 2024 at 10:49 PM

I don't know about you guys, but there has been times in the past when I've learned a lot from my fellow artists by discussing the things we have posted.
In other words, exchanging ideas and thoughts in the galleries.
I'm not sure if you can go back and make a second and third comment to someone's image in the galleries here, but if you can it's a shame that there's not a subscription feature to the images we make comments to. I kinda like to say thank you in the comments on my renders, but I also like to go back to what you guys have posted and read what's been said in gallery threads that are not mine. (I'm nosy - shoot me!) :p
I mean, that's what constructive criticism is for....right? There's not much use to make a comment how to improve things without having the opportunity to follow up.

Am I the only one who is missing this feature around here?
Would it be possible to add? (A subscription feature in the galleries that is.)

So tell me...does anyone else think this would be a good thing?

C - who misses the discussions in the galleries

PS. Yes I know that's what these forums are for...but I am visual and I've always been more active in the galleries than the forums...that's why I'm asking.

there is a special forum for that ..here at RO..
You can upload the image and then go to the forum and ask for crittics etc etc..
But you can do the same here in the vue..
Just upload you image to the gallery and then ask for comments etc etc on it here in the forum..

Aint that a fast simple way to do what you want ?

LOL...I just added a PS in my post...I'm not very active here in the forums, which is why I'm asking about the galleries overall.

I guess it's all what you are use to, but I would like to make a comment as I browse the galleries when I find something that I want to know more about and ask a question, click a "subscribe" button and maybe get an answer from the owner of the gallery post. I guess it is the option of not having to go to a forum for all that...

Maybe I'm strange? I mean  more than usual? LOL

Thanks for your replies.

I think I have some explaining to do.
I can't recall starting this thread and the explanation is pain killers.
Those of you who peeked at my homepage here knows that I have Chronic Neuropathic Pain Disorder, and at times when the pain gets too rough I take really strong stuff just to get through the day.
I'm afraid that starting this thread was due to drugs more than anything.

So just ignore this please :)

Hey no worries Croxie, totally understand, i tend to yak on a lot to distract me from pain/illness etc :)

Better to yak, than to kick the cat!...meoooOOWW! :p
i.e. it's better to be constructive than destructive. Which is something I wish the whole damn Human Race would learn, sigh.

I found gabapentin helped a lot with nerve pain and other stuff I get, pregabalin (spelling?) is newer and said to be better, but guess you've tried them ? :)

I tried Gabapentin, but got big problems with retaining water and my heart wasn't doing too good.
So I'm off those. They did help for a while though...at least until the side effects got too obvious.

And no...I haven't tried Pregabalin (don't know the correct spelling either :p). Not yet anyway.

Croxie,
ack :/
I found Gabapentin makes me very ill, docs are idiots!! higher doses make me worse, same with taking it in fewer, larger doses.
So I found 100mg, spread out 6 times a day is a lot better than higher dosages, and is better IMHO than  200mg x3 a day.

Pregabalin, think trade name is "Lyrica"? folk are saying that's good, less side effects for some folk.

mutters darkly about idiot docs putting him on anti-depressants, insisting it's all in your head, and guess who was wrong.....grrrr
off topic, but hey, I'm still furious at 'em ;)

Docs are idiot = true
Off topic = very true

We can take this off the board before someone grabs our ears and threaten to kick us outta

I to like cmoxie suffer from Chronic(trigenal) Neuropathic Pain, brought on by Shingles. After spending almost a year on Gaberpentin, oh what fun that was not. I fnaly found a neurologist worth his beef. I now have a neuro stimulator fitted to my body and it works 90% of the time, no GabaGaba hey for me any more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

croxie ( ) posted Mon, 21 April 2008 at 1:47 PM

Geez...I would've gone nuts after a whole year. More likely, I probably wouldn't have been alive since my heart couldn't handle the Gabapentin.
Good to hear that you get some relief with the neuro stimulator. That must be a lot better than drugs.
Sorry to hear that you need it in the first place.
