I used this same bird from the Cleveland, Ohio, USA zoo as a model for a toupee for James. This is a different view.

@Psycholex1508. Welcome to Renderosity. It looks like you are having trouble posting an image. The image must be under 200KB in size to upload.,.

awjay  "i would look cool in that"

Tom  "Yes, you would. "

I don't know....

But if you go for this look, you might want to carry a big stick next time you go out, birds will probably be all over you vying for your attention.

This is great!   I do hope James knows that this is the time of mating for many birds..he should be careful.  Some may even scuffle over him..

awjay ( ) posted Thu, 20 March 2008 at 8:15 AM

My favorite chair, now interred at the dump.  Last March when we got new flooring and quit living on subfloor, my wife decided the chair had to go.  It didn't feel that worn out.  Does it actually ***look*** that worn out?    I might have posted a similar shot before..oops.

What long legs you have..

I was out trying to get osprey shots today but the birds did not show.  This Killdeer plover showed near my truck while I was waiting.  A quickie shot and it decided to fly as shutter was pushed.

Wow, Sickmind, spectacular set of sundogs!  I always consider the day extraordinary when I get a glimpse of them, although I seldom see both sides at once.

I did get to see a double rainbow when at the falls late last year. They were pretty cool.

Felt the need to upload something. Was pondering some ideas for the May challenges. This was a photo I took of Mrs D and the children when we went for a walk in the woods (don't worry we brought the children home again).

I've just spent a LONG time reading back through this thread -- some really great stuff and some really funny stuff too.  Guess it's way past time for me to air some of my dirty laundry...so here's one from my archives.  This one was taken from a great distance with a poor quality 16X zoom on a typical misty/rainy day. I wanted to catch the raising of the bridge, but when I looked closer later at home I saw that the bridge revealed the Olympic Mountains behind; I guess since it looks like that around here so often I really hadn't noticed.  If only it were better focussed it might be a great shot, unfortunately what you see is what I got.  On none of the times I've been back to this spot have I seen the bridge up, cursed by the Photography God I guess.

And here's one I've been trying working on for a while.  It's in someone else's yard, behind a hedge.  I walk by all the time, and I haven't yet been able to get a shot that comes close to what I envision for it.  One of these days I'll catch it in perfect lighting and be bold enough to go further into the yard to get the angle I really want....in the meantime this is the best I've been able to get, and I'm still not happy with it.

I was at the Crystal Springs Test Garden in Portland, Oregon when this bird walked right up to me.  I wish I hadn't cut off the end of his tail but I did, so I never posted it.  I think this is the strangest bird I have ever seen.
