Tomorrow is Earth Day (April 22, 2008) and I'm inviting Poser artists to submit an image in the Gallery to commemorate the global event.  Collectively, the Poser community can contribute a powerful and meaningful gesture in support of Earth Day. I'd like to start the ball rolling with an submissison of my own: Earth Day Girl at [ http://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/index.php?image_id=1660854](http://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/index.php?image_id=1660854).

I've also posted a Poser animation on YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0W2G3Rmj18M, using my own model, animated wave effects and a texture map from NASA.

It would be awsome to see a few more postings, along with my own.

Happy Earth Day!

With time zones as they are, you might have posted this earlier than the day before,
I knew nothing of this "Earth day" but would have done an image gladly but I only saw this today [22nd], no time now to do one!!

Injustice will be avenged.

Thanks for reading this post folks.

Actually, it's only 1:45 pm here in Toronto, and I've been trying to keep track of all the Earth Day postings and submissions in the galleries.

To date, there are about 10 or 11. I'm sure there will be more and some may well be posted after April 22 - the offical global Earth Day.

I'll be posting another message here at some point compiling the links to all the submissions.

This has been great and all the Earth Day contributions are excellent, and quite compelling.

It's a great tribute to the Renderosity community too!

Hmmm.... let me get this right..... were going to celebrate it by making in image on one of most (if not the most) power consuming  items in homes/workplaces? Due to the huge amount of power used they're a major cause of polution. If you really want to celebrate this Earth Day, how about not using your computer for a whole day?

Not that I care, I don't celebrate Earth Day, it's invented by one of the most poluting nations on earth. I'm not going to celebrate a celebration if the inventors of, at large, refure to take part in real solutions of the problem. I do find it kind of hypocritical..... let's invent a day to talk about how to solve earths problems and once the talking is over we refuse to be part of the solution and take the steps that are needed. No thanks, I'll let Earth Day pass and leave it for what it is.

Artwork and 3DToons items, create the perfect place for you toon and other figures!

Due to the childish TOS changes, I'm not allowed to link to my other products outside of Rendo anymore :(

Food for thought.....

well, anyway, they demolished my deck yesterday and I made 'em take the rotten lumber
to a place where they compost it, and separate out the steel to go to a scrap yard, where
it gets sold to PRC (the greatest source of pollution on the planet).  not only that, but I
also will turn off this computer in about an half hour.  but these things don't use much power
in sleep mode.

You're right. What was I thinking? I should have left well enough alone. I take it back. I should have stayed in bed this morning. In fact, we should all turn off our computers right now and recycle all the parts with our bare hands. In fact, it might be better if we try to eat or consume the parts. Every bit helps. The Earth will thank us.

Cheers!

We expel CO2 when we eat, so that act pollutes!
