THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Subject: Help! Losing elements of my scene when going between bryce and D/S

Panthia ( ) posted Tue, 22 April 2008 at 8:21 PM · edited Tue, 14 January 2025 at 9:32 PM

Ok....been working on this project for upcoming MayDay....Its a May Pole scene.  Anyhow, created the scene in Bryce...it looks like this......

Ok, then while having the image up, I hit the D/S button and when it comes up I create my little girlie and then tell D/S to go back to bryce...thinking that when it gets there I'll be able to see the girlie and continue the back and forth til she's perfect for the scene.....but when I go back to bryce the first time this is what shows up.....its missing several elements of the image.  What happened?

btw....the bits missing are things that I brought into the scene via the back and forth action of bryce and D/S.

Are you breaking the DAZ Studio link before you load a new figure in D|S?

ThunderStone ( ) posted Wed, 23 April 2008 at 6:57 AM

If you want to keep the item from DAZ in Bryce, you will need to sever the link between DAZ and Bryce for that particular item. Otherwise, you will lose it every time you go back into DAZ from Bryce.

The other way I do it, is to save the item in DAZ and export it as an OBJ item to my HD.

How do you do break the link between DAZ and Bryce to keep your item in Bryce?

  1. Select the item in question.
  2. Go to Objects Menu
  3. Select "Break DAZ|Studio Link"

And you got it done.
Question: Was the Maypole from DAZ? If it was then you've got to sever the link or you will lose it when you go into DAZ from Bryce to create the girl.

Hope this help.

Did not know this!

What I did was once I had the pole or tree in D/S and then sent it to Bryce...then in bryce I clicked the arrow next to create and saved the pole or tree as an object, then once I had the pole and few trees I needed done I went into bryce alone (no D/S) and created the scene.  Then I saved it as a br6 file.  Then a few days later, went into D/S created the girl, saved her as a scene, shut d/s down, opened bryce, opened my br6 file, then clicked the little d/s button, once d/s pulled up I opened the scene file with the girl and then file/send to bryce and once I got to bryce the trees and pole were gone...........

Ok....going to try what you suggested......

Thank you greatly!
