I am posting some stuff today and I said that it's PC/MAC compatible but I am worried. I can't test it on a Mac to be sure. Would someone using a Mac let me know if they break and why they broke so I can try to fix them? Thanks. ===Underdog=== underdog@fantasy3d.com

I've got a mac friend...I'll send 'em your way...what are you posting? PAN~

Ooops! Forgot to mention that. It's a texture mapped violin and also bugle. I also modified the entry for the posable braids I uploaded a long time ago to fix the geocities problem and I guess I'd like to see that checked too. Not sure how to tell you to find that one easily, but if you look at "Most Wanted" I was shocked to see that it's on the top ten list there! Thanks for the help. I hope to post a Cessna later tonight. ===Underdog===

First time through your site - what a great collection! Quite a few that I had never seen. Thanks.

Thanks! I am still just getting started. I planned to have a forum but I'm working on an interactive chat application (comic book like with speech balloons - perfect for poser characters!). I'm trying to put a lot of objects on the site in my "spare time", but I don't want to just echo what others have already done and in many cases done well (not only this site, but props guild, etc). My goal is to place the objects that I have found useful (and free to distribute) from other sites (along with credit to the site), combined with the objects that I create myself. ===Underdog=== http://www.fantasy3d.com

I'm on a Mac, and I checked out your files. The cessna and the bugle come out fine. The violin, however, is full "holes". It's quite possibly something I'm doing wrong, and I'll send you a screenshot of what I see if you want. Nice work on them all! (Well, the thumbnail of the violin looks good for me...) :)

Colm, Why not tell the site owner rather than the rest of the world? If he refuses to take your stuff off then you can tell us. Underdog says he's giving credit to the originators. If he had posted my free stuff without my permission but with a credit I'd have been highly pleased rather than p*ssed off. I certainly woulkdn't have moaned to the world before communicating with the 'culprit'. Maz Maz

Hi Maz, I appreciate your opinion on not telling the world that Underdog has used my work without permission but don't you think it's the same difference balling me out in public when you too could have mailed me privately. I have actually contacted Underdog but have had no reply yet. Everything I post on my site has included with it a readme file stating it must not be used apart from in images without my permission. Underdog has gone against my wishes on this matter. I wouldn't dream of taking someone else's models and posting them on my site without informing them first. He is welcome to the Starwars ones as they were not originally mine. I tried to inform the creator about them and never heard back and that is the main reason they where taken down. If underdog wants to contact me in a civilized manner which he may well do then he can also use some of the others if he wishes but there are some that he certainly can not. What is the point in putting restrictions on the use of these things if people take no notice. If this situation is not resolved I may be forced to take down all my models or start charging for future ones that don't include any of the Zygote originals. continued in next post...

continued from last post: I'm sorry you feel this way and yes you are right it is flattering in a way but it would have been nice to have been asked... This is what it say's at the top of the downloads section of my site: Please read the readme.txt file contained in the Zip's as it contains important information on using these figures in Poser 3. It also contains copyright information. These figures should not under no circumstances be used commercially. Some of the figures contain modeled accessories and morph targets made by people other than myself. You should seek these people out if you intend to use these figures for more than personal use. For figures that are mine you can contact me and I will be happy to come to an arrangement. Apart from all of that use the figures in your own work and feel free to display them anywhere you can. This site 'The Poser Forum' is extremely strict on preserving the copyright of the creator. They have my vote on that matter 100%... Colm...

Well, I am in trouble coming out of the damn gate it appears. All I can do now is apologize to Colm, remove the figures from my site and hope that this doesn't make too many people mad at me. I made a mistake posting his stuff on my site. I mistakenly thought that since the site wasn't a commercial venture, and that I was distributing the characters in the same format that they had been distributed on his site, that I wasn't violating his terms. But it's obvious that I was and I will remove his characters after finishing this post. He did email me, by the way. I just checked my email and along with these message notifications there was his message as well asking me to remove the characters from the site (or words to that effect). ===Underdog===

By the way... There are other figures on this site that will probably get hit the same way. For example, I put the (wonderful!) dragon and (equally wonderful!) venus fly trap that Anton Kisiel created on my site. I credited his work, but I haven't contacted him (or Ghost, Phil Hokusai, Robert Walton, ...) and I don't want to get clobbered again. As many people creating objects have discovered, it is difficult to give credit where it is due. I know that when I created the violin, for example, the original reason for this thread, I used a "PD" object from a library on the web. There wasn't a readme explaining terms on use on this one (as I recall, but if there was I tried to honor the terms). I added the texture maps, split the object into a bow and instrument, placed them in the figure's hands, created a pose, and uploaded it here. I hope I didn't step on someone's toes, and I hope if I did they will give me a chance to read my email first! :) Again, my apologies for insulting Colm by posting his stuff without asking. It's obvious that this poser website stuff is harder than it looks.

Maz ( ) posted Sat, 18 September 1999 at 5:36 PM

Colm, I don't think I was balling you out, and fair enough, yes if your readme files say 'no use except in images' and you had mailed him then I guess you had a right to feel a bit peeved. mea culpa.

Colm_Jackson ( ) posted Sat, 18 September 1999 at 5:54 PM

Ok. Underdog has mailed me with an apology that I accept. I have mailed him back saying he is welcome to use all of the figures except two. Amazon Anna and Warlord of the Royal Crocodiles. Just one other thing and this isn't a gripe as I just wan't to put the record straight. I never actually asked Underdog to take the models down. I asked him to explain to me what he was doing and informed him that he didn't have my permission to use them in this manner. I wish him all the best with his site... I am now going to try to remove my original message from this thread as as far as I am concerned the matter is closed. Colm...

Underdog - if you want to create your own copy cat Poser forum, go for it. But DO NOT take files from the FUn Stuff and use them without consent from the creators. Please do not post your site here again.

underdog ( ) posted Sat, 18 September 1999 at 10:59 PM

Willow, I did not knowingly do this, but I admit that I made mistakes. And I am not trying to make a copy cat of the Poser Forum. For example, as I just said, I am trying hard to admit it when I make a mistake. ===Underdog===
