Subject: 6pro do I need transposer?

Hi I was wondering if there is a nessessity to get transposer when you have Carrara 6 pro and poser 4/5/6?

I do not plan to use Carrara for animation, mostly illustration.
Any tutorials for creating toon shaded effects?

I use C6 without transposer, making only stills. If you use transposer, you can set up everything (lights, dynamics) as you are used to in poser and then render it with the superior C6. However, you can set up everything in C6 without any use of poser whatever. The lighting and scene options are far beyond the limitations of poser.
The disadvantage is learning a new software...
The poser content loads into a C6 scene by drag and drop and behaves much like you would expect within poser.
I only use poser these days as a sort of wardrobe department for my C6 scenes.

Ah, ok great! More money in my pocket!

Yeah, it will take a bit to learn C6, but I'm used to using 3D applications.
I was going to go with truespace 7.5 but C6 pro looks like it will handle my already created cob files and works with poser... making it a perfect program to work in, and render everything.

Still quite a bit of reading, tutorial scanning, and experimenting until I get a render out to the public.

You will need Transposer if you plan on using Posers dynamic cloth. Most content works perfectly fine in C6pro without it though.

PS: Why would you not use C6 for animation, only illustration. (unless you mean you're not doing animation at all) I would certainly choose C6 over Poser for animation.

I'm mostly into just Scifi Illustration, but who knows, I might delve into animation later, and I would definitely use Carrara over poser just for this.

But currently I chose Carrara because it's ability to combine my Starships (truespace cob files) with my poser figures and my armor/weapons created in Hexagon.

I didnt see any improvement with truespace 7.5 in the ability to work together with my other programs as well as Carrara does.

so this is why I jumped ship to this software. I even paid a little more than upgrading truespace 6.6 to 7.5 , but the compatability factor makes it worth it.

OK, that makes sense. 😉
