Subject: OT - My Family now has the power!!!!!!

Couldn't resist announcing this here!

In our local elections my son just became the youngest Town Councillor in Wales!
Trevor and his wife Michelle both stood for seats in our local elections. Michelle made a good show, but it was Trevor who took the prize! He is the first in our family to ever hold a seat in government.

Once in a while I look around,
I see a sound
and try to write it down
Sometimes they come out very soft
Tinkling light sound

For non-UK or Dr Who fans, Torchwood = Dr Who TV series spin off, set in Wales, Cardiff to be exact :p

The question I have is  who came first "Horton Hears a Who", 'The Who', 'Dr. Who' or "Who's on First"?

The old joke goes like this: A guy wanted to know what his son was going to be when he grew up so he placed a Bible, a dollar and a glass of whiskey in a room he knew his son would be coming into in a short while and hid where he could see what happened - the theory was that if he drank the whiskey he would be a drunk,  if he  took the dollar he would be a thief and if he looked at the bible he would be religious. Well the kid comes into the room takes the dollar, bill drinks the whiskey and opens up the bible and reads a few passages.
"Oh my God!!" thinks the father, "he's going to be a politician" !!!

Well, congratulations - and good luck with that tax break thing.

Ooohhh... Congratulations?

I remember my wife telling about the night she came home from the first mayoral campaign she worked on. She was working late and met her parents coming out of the house. The opposition had called to say she was killed in a car wreck. Her parent's were going to identify the body.

Government in the south is rough. There is a saying, "if no one wants to kill you, You're not really in politics." I have tremendous respect for anyone who makes a go of it.

Yes, but it depends on which Dr.Who, does it not?

electroglyph ( ) posted Tue, 13 May 2008 at 4:38 PM

Also Horton Hears a Who the book was published in 1954. There was also a cartoon in 1970 before this year's remake. So Who's Who do you do?

Yeah that's what I thought too !! ... also doesn't The Who predate the original Dr Who? Ah, who knows ?? - at least I didn't include The Guess Who, Whosits and Whatsits and "who put the dip in the dipalongadingdong?".

Actually that's not entirely correct . Although the band changed their name to THE WHO in 1964, The band was known as the Detours from 1961 to 1964   "A rose by any other name" so to speak. So infact The Who, as a performing band actually predate Dr. Who too by a couple of years.
