Hi, *large gulp* this is my latest work. I've only been using Bryce for bout 2 months now, and Poser for bout 3 weeks. Basicly I'm after comments, suggestions. Good? horrible? never go near the programmes again? (read I'm very critical of my own work and very fragile.) Thanks, Sha (who goes off to bite her nails impatiently)

Don't be so self-critical! This is very nice. If you've only been using Bryce for a couple of months and you're already making indoor scenes with multiple light sources and booleans (I assume the windows are boolean subtractions), I think you're doing pretty well. I'm assuming at least some of the furniture was imported and not modeled from boolean primitives in Bryce? My only suggestions are: Play with the light settings to try and soften the shadows; Play around with transparency on the canopy on the bed; Since it looks like she's just gotten out of bed, make a "terrain" for the top of the bed to create a rumpled blanket; Perhaps a wine glass at the bedside table made out of Bryce booleans. Of course, those are only MY suggestions. This image works well as is. -ScottK

Dear Sha: That is a bodacious as well as very ambitious piece of work. Let your nails grow back. I haven't had the courage or patience to put such a scene together yet. I guess the one comment I have otherwise is the pattern/texture of the bed and canopy supports: sort of like marbled intestines. I think it would add some nice contrast to have the uprights and crossbars made of wood. But overall the scene is splendid. Keep up the good work.

Hi, ScottK: Can't help being so self-critical, but I do try not to be and thanks. Yes the windows are boolans, just simple stretched cubes negatived with the walls. the furniture was all found at the fun stuff page, bar the curtains which I can't remember where. I'm not that good at boolans. I'm hoping give me time :) The lights I did, and will again. The far light did seem to suddenly get bright again. As for more stuff, I'd love too but I think my comp would fall over and die if I added anythign else to it. Took ages to load and change stuff, not render though. And thanks for the terrian idea, will see if I can get it right :) rtmecon: thanks. the bed posts are wood, though just a simple preset from inside bryce. as for the curtains on the bed and windows, thats hte oil slick. spent an age trying to find the right look, but couldn't so settled for that. Will keep trying though :) Sha (who isn't biting her nails so much now :)

Sha, Nice Image. I'm a people person. Your figure would, IMO, look better closer up to the camera. For that to fit the scene, maybe standing at the window. Such that the light, from outside, highlights her. The way she is standing now, is perfect. No need to repose, export & import a new one. Just a little rotation so that her face faces the camera but body faces out the window. If you catch my drift.

Hi, Ameister: Thanks and yup, I get what you mean. Though where she is now, she's heading towards the closet for more clothes, (which is out of the shot.) I could angle her more towards the actual door, which is behind the camera. I'll think about it. :) Wired Spirit: thanks. I've since gone back into the pic and fixed the lighting problem. And thanks be praised I hadn't moved it to my back up drive which failed on me this weekend. Lost all my bryce and poser files I'd moved to the finished zip file :( Sha

Fantastic! I love the curtains. Try to lower contrast between the carpet and the walls and you've got one great room.

Sha, I personally like the lighting in the first Image the best. It is nicer to see the figure more clearly in the second image though. The lighting in the first adds much more color, especially to your curtains on the bed. Nice effect. Ameister
