If you go to the Character Creators forum, in the heading is a link to a tutorial that may help you.

I highly recommend ClintH's tutorial (the one wetworks is talking about). It's really helpful. Dolly, if you come over to the Character Creator's forum, you can listen to me whine about the problems I've had creating my poseable alien (coming soon to a freestuff near you). Maybe then you can avoid making the mistakes I did! Anyway, the first thing you need is your model, which needs to be saved in obj format. Do you already have a model you want to make poseable? If so, here's what I recommend. First, go through all the steps in ClintH's tutorial. Then, do it again, except this time use your obj file instead of the one he provides. When you're done, you'll have a finished Poser figure of your own design. --Terri

First make a prop or two. Then try some clothing. After that you may be ready to make a full character.
