But I can certainly try. Worse that will happen is that you will look at it with googly eyes and think "WTF is that!"  LOL

Patorak---how long do you reckon a dress like the one Acadia posted would take to complete...textured and all?

TOPcat831 ( ) posted Mon, 05 May 2008 at 12:06 PM

Looks like Lightwave is much easier to use than 3DsMax.

I tried Max once and didn't like it.  Too uptight,  man.  I suppose if I was an engineer it would have an appeal,  but I'm not.  I'm just a hippie artist so I'll stick with laid back Lightwave.

If it's not too much trouble. She seems to be all the rage. I'm sure a nice freebie such as this would be appreciated by her fans. 😄

Cool.  I'll pick up both the V3 and V4 versions.  I'll have to wait until tomorrow though and transfer the money from under my mattress to the bank.

Glad you liked it.  Toil I must, too.  Not for me, but my youngest son.  He has cerebral palsey.  Physical and speech therapy runs $500 to $600 a week.  You would not believe the cost of the braces,  too.

Awwww. I know all too well about "toling" myself. My oldest was born with a heart condition. Oh how we parents worry while trying to maintain. They're strong lil creatures. :)

He had one "incident" when he was first born. Went on medication for about a yr and never had another. Thanks to the most high :) He could've possibly grown out of his condition. It's called Wolfe Parkinson White syndrome. Makes your heart beat super fast.

His speech is also not up to par for him being a 3 yr old.

I haven't a clue. I don't think so. I have my "suspicions" about what did but its of no matter now. He was saying more at 9 months old then digressed. He's been getting vocational and speech services since he was 1. Currently in school. Great at doing physical things. Talking---not so much.

patorak ( ) posted Thu, 08 May 2008 at 4:50 PM

We have ours as well with Caleb.  We think it was the heparin that caused his brain anurisium.
Caleb started speech therapy 2 months ago.  He's now able to say 2 to 3 word sentences.  His sessions were sunday afternoon,  but got switched to monday evening.  Now,  monday is back to back physical therapy then speech therapy.

If you get the chance take your son to see the IronMan movie.  It has really motivated my son.

I'm sorry I didn't get the chance to work on your outfit yesterday.  I'll work twice as long tonight to make up for it.

No worries. Take your time. :)

Wow, I mean all I can say is WOW!

It's my first to come to this thread and seeing this.   So informative and inspiring.

Patorak, you're doing a real good job in making this outfit.  Is it really easy to do clothing in Lightwave, I'm learning in Hexagon, and from what I'm seeing from your side is great.  I can't wait to see the overall product when finished.

I'll be checking back here.

Thank you Patorak for taking the time to create something for us.

Interestingly enough, I have made 2 clothes for v4, which are work in progress.  Using the development kit as a guide, I been making clothing from scratch as is no easy task I tell ya.  Second, my system is 6 years old and I'm planning on getting a new mobo in the Fall.  I guess I'm too much a perfectionist, and for the simple fact I enjoy creating my own textures particularly for v4.

Here's my first WIP body shirt.  I'll post my second one since it won't allow two image post, I think.

Here's the second, a Halter Gown for V4, also from scratch.  I wish I can learn how to make the top conform and make the long draped skirt dynamic as I hate how P7's dynamic cloth simulates the whole thing leaving it drooping or dropping off the figure's chest -- ever since I learned to use Constrained method for it to work.  Here's the WIP in Hex2, and the simple render in Poser 7.

Quote - Hi Jartz

If you mean full body morphs, no I haven't.  I would have to use magnets to make the morphs, of which I have no idea to do --  When I made a sci-fi suit for V3, I got NetherWorks V3 Morph Kit and I yet to get it for V4, I been thinking about trying Lyrra's Magnets for V4.  I' ve yet got a lot of work to do on those clothing items along with my job and other things in my plate.  Not enough hours in the day.

Not meaning to hijack the thread, I'm glad to come here and check out what others are doing.  Creating 3d models is fun indeed.
