Subject: Preview is good, but rendered VOB is White?

I imported a Poser 7 Pz3 into Vue of an Object file. In the preview window, it looks as it did in Poser's preview window. HOWEVER in Vue when I render (at ANY setting) either it renders pure white without ANY textures.  I saved it as a VOB .

On the original poser import, it had became deficient in importing ANY poser textures and I had to hand-enter over twenty of the buggers. I saved the object to the library after all the textures were loaded as a VOB. I then tried to render my scene, and got an "Out of Memory" error and Vue crashed.

NOW the VOB loads without any textures, even after a restart of my PC and two restarts of Vue.

Anyone have any ideas I can try.

I'd rather NOT have to re-import the poser scene and go fishing for textures again.

Hard to say what is going on when not having a hand on the model or see a screenshot. However, two possibilities in my eyes.

#1 Reflection in the materials of this objects maybe are set to 100% or more. Happens often, one of those strange things with Poser. Check that and correct this setting.

#2 Indeed the textures are not found correctly. Not all versions of Vue have the possibility to save the textures within the vob. You have not said what version you use unfortunately. However, if that is the case, one option is to copy all the textures into the same folder where the vob is and try again.

Try adding the Poser Textures library as a collection to Vue's Materials library (Do not copy them! Just create a new collection of it). Then try importing the Poser object again.
When Vue can't find the material it will suggest the closest match within it's own library.
Works for me all the time.....!

There is a script in Poser, it's called "collect scene" I think, where you can save the object with it's textures to a  folder you specify.

I'll check into the Poser script.

I'm using Vue 6 Esprit.

[EDIT]
I think I found out what might have been going on!  When I checked in the Vue import menu to see where it was pointing at, it was pointing at POSER 5!!

I never HAD Poser 5. EVER!  I haven't used Vue for several months, so I guess I must have gotten bored and started going psychotic.
