Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 29 7:57 am)
I found a lower res "freebie" but you'd have to upload a freebie of your own in order to get it... and, I'm not sure I feel comfortable with linking the site because I saw several incarnations of it, under differing domain names, and that doesn't sit well with me.
I'll try to find one, but no promises. :)
One thing you can do is do a google search and search for other 3D format names that poser can deal with . 3ds, wavefront obj, lightwave, etc.. The B-29 is a popular aircraft and I'm sure there are a few out there. You could also use a soviet "TU-4" with some retexturing as it was the USSR knockoff of the B-29. Places like http://www.flightsim.com may have a model or people that know where to get a good one.
Here's a package for a flightsim that has a .mdl model of the Enola Gay (don't know the resolution).

You'd need to convert that from .mdl format to a format Poser can import like wavefront .obj or 3ds. I checked and there are plenty of free converters for .mdl out there as well. Just Google ".mdl format converter" and add the format you're looking for. The package is legitimate (I d'ld it myself and opened/scanned it) and includes both the model in .mdl form and textures for the "Enola Gay."
I don't know if I can import .mdl with anything I have resident on my machine atm. But, if I can, I'll let you know whether or not the model is worth the hassle. :)
Quote - I dont know if you find what you want i don't understant russian, but is there lot of planes !
Very nice! No B-29 but there is a British Lancaster there, if my memory serves me right. (Last one.)
Still, made it into my "To download everything and cram it into my hardrive" list of links! :) TKS!
Quote - Wow! Thanx for all your hard work, really appreciate it!!
I'm still looking.. :)
The first place I looked was Vanishing Point and I was surprised as all heck that I couldn't find a B-29 there since they picked up the DeEspona stuff. I thought that would have been a prime model candidate but no such luck.

There IS a De Espona B29, only it hasn't been converted (yet) to a Poser model by Vanishing Point. Patience ...
No idea, you would have to ask the Vanishing Point people ... but I doubt they'll give you an answer.
I know from previous forum posts there are at least 500 models to convert into different formats and if I remember well the total number of conversions would be about 4250 (theoretically, if they convert everything into every format), so we are talking about long term planning.
Though maybe it helps to push your favourite model to the front of the production queue if you nag their ears off ...

I want/need a B29 super fortress, anyone seen a reasonably priced one anywhere??
There's one at Tutbosquid but I don't want to pay $180 for it!! [LOL].
Injustice will be avenged.
