Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Dec 22 10:18 pm)
Poser needs them if you have more than one figure in your scene. Use the first one to magnetise to your first V4 character, and subsequent ones for Victoria 1, Victoria 2, etc.
That's what the manual says anyhow. Me, I can't them them to do anything useful anyway.

Thanks.
I didn't notice anything happening when I clicked any of them.
What is the purpose of doing this anyway?
After I click the icon do I need to do anything else?
The reason I ask is that I'm testing something and the readme says something about the need to "magnetize" and I've never used that feature of V4 before, so this is completely new territory for me.

My understanding is it replaces JCM's and the V4 figure uses magnets as deformers when it bends. So magnetize clothing adds the same deformers to the cloth so it follows along with the bends of the body. Most noticeable to me in the chest, shoulder areas mostly. Elbows are elbows and still don't look right to me with these new deformers.

in a bad accent Manuals...... we don't read no stinkin' manuals
So had to add that.
My understanding is that the magnets help conform the clothing better when in certain poses or morphs are added. I have found with some clothing I may need to add 1-9 magnets to make it look right other 0.

The figure has magnets built in rather than joint controlled morphs in many places. What you do is:
This pose makes the magnets built into the V4 figure apply the same deformation that they do on the figure, to the bodyparts named in the "Magnetize to V4" pose. The reason for multiple versions is in the case where you have multiple copies of a V4 figure loaded, as Isaoshi points out.

Some people make a big deal about the magnet overhead but it really is not a big deal in my experience. How about 21 V4s.

Acadia, is about my free stuff you're talking about ? ;)
In fact , if you magnetize the clothing , the breast follows the mouvement much easier.I found that "magnetize" is very useful for the upper part of the clothing - dresses, tops etc . It really makes a huge difference . For skirts , I haven't seen the difference .

I need to magnetize some clothing. I managed to find the "Mangetize Clothing" area in the Pose folder. But there are 10 of them and all of the thumbnails look the same! There is:
"Magnetize to V4"
"Magnetize to V4 1"
"Magnetize to V4 2"
etc all the way to "Magnetize to V4 9"
How do I know which one to use? Or do I have to click them all for each clothing figure and prop?
