Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 28 11:20 am)
I bought a scan converter, This basically plugs into where your monitor normally goes, it takes the signal, converts it to a usable VCR signal, and you can use the video-in line on the vcr to record. This won't do sound, but you can just plug a cord from the line-out to the video line-in to do that. I live in australia, so my choices on the converters was very limited. I got the cheapest I could find ($200 australian - I think that's about $150 US) and the quality is perfect for me. I wouldn't want to broadcast it, but for home vcr it's as good as any video tape. I believe you also have lower-quality television in america, so that should be even less of a problem for you. I got my scan converted from AITECH (www.aitech.com) - and the only complaint I have is that there isn't an easy bypass-on/off switch for it, so if I don't want it to be powered and working I have to manually unplug it. But for cheap hardware, that's something I can live with The other option is to get a video card that can output to vcr. The TNT2 card came recommended to me, but not having used that I can't comment, sorry. Hope I've been of some sort of help SewerRat
I currently use an Averkey3+. It's about 6'x7', and it comes with a remote! This allows me to output up to 1024x768 @ 16.7mil color in overscan mode, Zoom x2, screen freeze, reposition video on screen, 3 filter levels and brightness control. It is composite, s-video and rgb output compatable. The output res quality differs slightly for the mac (I use a Gateway 450gl Pc ~Maxed~). This kind of toy lets you play quake on a big screen tv as well as save your work to a VCR. ($150.00) It also doesn't require filter, buffer, or driver software. Now, The best possible solution is to get a FireWire I/O card for your machine which runs about $100.00 but that's only the begining! you gotta have a digital V-camera to get input and if your not running a high priced VCR on output your going to lose alot on this kind of equipment. but you could look into the Iomega buzz, multimedia I/O device, all around input, it requires you install a card, it takes (I think) 20meg for software and oodles of space for mpeg storage ($199.00)
Hi! Thank you all for your suggestions... I think my video card has a tv/out(doh!)plug, but Ive never even thought about that, anyway, Im going to give it a try and let you know what happened... About the lower quality T.V. in America, I live in Mexico, so, I dont know about that...(^-^). Thanks again everyone, see you... Faustus.

Hello everybody: Cool place is this indeed! I have been using Poser3 for some time now and I'm looking for a simple (read: cheap :)) way of sending the animations I have made in Poser to a VCR recorder. I hope someone can help me. Thanks in advance... Faustus
