THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Subject: ot.. my brains are fried

erosiaart ( ) posted Wed, 21 May 2008 at 3:53 AM · edited Wed, 05 February 2025 at 11:53 AM

No jokes here..my brains fried and sozzled and working slower than a snail trying to beat a sloth! Nearly 40 deg here.. 90 deg F says the cooking therm in my pencil jar. Yup..me back in India.
I know I've disappeared from the forum ..forgive me.
I survived the chicken pox in Hong Kong..itching the bed, bashing pillows, and cussing whoever created this disgusting disease. A bunch of marks all over are al that remains..but happily fading thanks to being told to rub ale vera all over me. i swear i smell forest fresh nite and day. (Um...men..stop sniffing! :-p )  :-P It seems I got it during a Hindu festival, and it is said that one of the Goddesses seemed to have paid me a visit by way of the pox. can't figure out why she'd choose that way.. but it seems i've been blessed??  Don't ask, even I can't figure it out...
I got waylaid for a month after in HK.... two kiddos (my grand niece and nephew) capturing my heart.
I'm back in India..been back 4 days now with a bang.....my laptop had to get reinstalled, the broadband modem had to be changed and the company gave me  one which is supposed to be the same speed as the older one..but I find it way slower. I haven't reinstalled bryce since I think the laptop may have to go to the hospital for a day or two.
I've got 3 weeks here, then I'm off to London to do a 2 month stint with a museum. I need my laptop spic and span and bursting with health for that.
Trust me..you guys don't want my life... with brains working so slow..getting things done here is taking 4 times slower than it ought to be.
Give me a few days to sit andcatch up with reading all that I've missed and I'll be back as normal.
Fran..incase you read this.. how is that xray mat going? I'll start working on one as soon as I install bryce..
PS.. i didn't install bryce on my sis computer since she had win xp service pack one. ONE I tel you..not 2. Absolutely horrendous.

Bless ya.
Hugs...

Hi Rosie,
So glad your back and getting better. At least London will be cooler than India, you'll have that to look forward to.

Glad you're okay. I was wondering about you after that last post. The x-ray mat in my case, went by the roadside. I kind of gave up as it was giving me the fits and not the creative kind either. In the meantime, I haven't been active in the rendering department as I once was after passing No. 50 mark. I think I am now up to 58 or 59... Not sure which. I'll try the x-ray mat again soon for more inspiration.

Glad you're back healthy even if the brain is slower. I know how that is... It takes me 3x as long to get my butt out of bed these days.

Woo Hoo, y had us worried girl. Good to see you survived CP[chicken pox not Content Paradice, heh heh heh], a curious blessing indeed, and thanks for the SP3 warning in your other post. That may be what's wrong with my e machine[this one]..slow as a slug. My workstation only gets updates that don't screw this machine so it's fine thankfully.. ...

Once in a while I look around,
I see a sound
and try to write it down
Sometimes they come out very soft
Tinkling light sound

LOL...nice retouch Bryster! Well Rosie, this means you won't get the pox again since you've built immunity. Talk about fired brains...I haven't been too swift lately either. Welcome back!

Sorry to hear that you had to go through a recent bout with Chicken-pox. It's certainly no picnic to get them as a child, but adult onset Chicken-pox can be very serious, not to mention agonizing.
I can certainly relate as I contracted them as an adult also. Now, years later, I get an occasional attack of shingles, and all too often a flare-up of Iritis in my left eye which leaves me unable to do 3D work for long periods of time. I hope the "goddess' will spare you from any of those long-term consequences.
Cheers, Dan

It's the spots you get under your boobs that are the worst.....not that I would know about that of course.

Ohhhhhhhhh, that kind of chicken pox.  I thought your house was overrun with some kind of poultry.

If you are traveling from China to India to London, why not make a small side trip of a couple more thousand mile and come visit me.  I'll have an RC cola and a moon pie waiting. Cheerwine? Sundrop?  pack of nabs? Lunch at Waffle House? I work about a mile from Lowe's Motor Speedway and this is race week.  You could meet more Billy Bobs and Bubas than you can shake a stick at.  Or for night life you can drown a few worms fishing for catfish all night long in the muddy Catawba river (you haven't lived if you have never eaten salt and pepper catfish)

Hi Rosie

Look at it this way the new Indianna Jones movie is out or almost so - from what I inderstand a couple of the airport scenes were filmed here in Fresno. That'd be nice to see I'll wager(hopefully in a well Air Conditioned Theatre) . Here in Fresno, we got to 102F last week - 85(or so) today with high winds.

LOL..... heathrow 5ought to have learnt from HK new terminal 2..complete witha  huge shopping mall that anyone can visit..and a 4d theatre screen. iron man was being shown in 4d.. if you had enough time to sit thru it while you wait to check in..of any other person wanted to come in to see it. i saw some 20 minute logo animated movie.. and there were bubbles and smoke all over at the scenes that were there!
rest assured.. don't htink me in terminal 5.. on Virgin, not BA.
bikermouse..ouch....be happy. We just ahd a sprinkling of rain.. and that will make it even more hotter now...

pakled ( ) posted Thu, 22 May 2008 at 9:31 PM

well, I was born in El Paso, and 100 isn't unknown. What gets you here isn't the heat...it's the humidity. That's why they make air conditioning...;) If you get thirsty, you just grab some air and squeeze it...;)

ugh... humidity... that's mumbai for you with the humidty... yeesh...
here..the heat stings your skin

bikermouse ( ) posted Fri, 23 May 2008 at 2:43 AM

I lived in Phoenix for three years - 105F or higher during the day for 9 months out of the year. but it was a dry heat. During that time I flew into Fresno for my dad's funeral and at 90F Fresno seemed cool by comparison.
Humidity - that's what I like about "The South" - not ! !

I passed through El Paso once - what I remember most was the polution from the power plant - of course that was a few years ago in February.

Glad to hear you're feeling better Rosie,

I've been so busy with deadlines, that my brain has been living in a different world, so... what X-ray mat?

I can't remember what I was doing...

I remember the flowers, but only vaguely, what did I say?
