THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Subject: Anyone seen this before?

Bryce 5.5, Windows XP: -  I'm 75% of the way through a l-o-n-g render to disk, when the Bryce window vanishes without trace and Bryce 5 disappears from the applications in Task Manager. However the Bryce5.exe process is still running, and using about 97% CPU. When I try to check the output file, it's still in use.

Has anyone had this happen before, and left Bryce running in the background? If so, did it finish the render? This particular render has been running for over 24 hours now, and I'd hate to waste all that effort if there's a chance it might finish it..

Any ideas much appreciated....

Arne, you're a star! I assumed that Alt-Tab would be useless, as I couldn't see Bryce on the task bar, but when I tried, there it was.  I couldn't see it in Task Manager initially, but while I was messing about with Alt-Tab, the Bryce window just re-appeared! It seems to have been working happily in the background, as it's done another 5%.

Thanks for your advice - much appreciated. I can go to bed happy now!       8-)
