I tried posting this over at Cornucopia, but haven't gotten any responses so I figured I'd check here to see if anyone here has any ideas. What I'm wondering is if there is a way in Vue animations to point the camera at a certain object and have it stay pointed at that object while you move it around. The effect I want is to sort of zoom out and rotate around an object.
I can do this piece by piece reorienting the camera at each keyframe, but inevitably the camera starts swinging the wrong way and it ends up looking like the cameraman is drunk ;) if I add more keyframes then it only gets worse.
I can't help but think there's an easier way to do this. I found the camera target panel and set that to the object I want to focus on but that only adjusts the plane of focus (as far as I can tell) and not the camera orientation.
So my question is, is there any way to tell the camera to always point at a fixed location no matter where you move the camera? If so how do you do it?
I have Vue Esprit 6 on a Mac BTW.
