Just wanted to make a point here about the challenge...

"Your entry MUST be shot no more than one month prior to the challenge"

and

"Please leave the EXIF Data embedded"

If there is no EXIF data..your entry won't be approved..

If you shot film..please contact one of the challenge managers.....

How do you keep the EXIF data embedded?

As soon as I resize in Photoshop or Fireworks, the EXIF data disappears!

What version of photoshop to you have?  When saving don't use the "save for web" option as this wipes the EXIF info.  Just used the "save as" option.

I have Photoshop CS2. I never use "save for web" because someone mentioned that this does wipe out the EXIF... BUT, it disappears anyway!

I found that the problem is not with Photoshop. If you check out my latest photo "Chinese Garden" the EXIF info has been listed. It is Macromedia Fireworks that is stripping it off. I've been using Fireworks to add a drop shadow to the image title and a bevel to the image. In "Chinese Garden", I did what I could to the photo such as adding a border. I couldn't add the drop shadow or bevel. If this can be done in Photoshop, let me know how.

The way I do drop shadows in photo shop is to duplicate the layer the increase the canvas size by a couple of cm's then if you go to the drop shadow menu you can then adjust to the amount of shadow you want..

I stopped using fire works after getting PSPPhoto X2 cause it dropped teh data...I can do anything to the image in PaintShopPro Photo X2 and it ramains intact'ed

A question regarding the postwork.   What is considered a minimum?  For example, I have an image of a recent event that looks great as a sepia so in photoshop it's a matter of adjusting brightness/contrast, desaturating and adjusting the color to the sepia tone I'm after.  Is that considered too much postwork?   

Sepia conversions would be fine...

There isn't a hard and fast rule..

My philosophy has always been, "it's a photography challenge, not a Photoshop challenge"
