Subject: Is it just me ..... ????

Content Advisory! This message contains profanity

Is it just me, or are there a lot of "stylish" hair props out there where the fringe (or the bangs) are always long and in the character's eyes ???

I've got a couple of these props, and unfortunately they don't have any morph or trans settings to get the hair out of the eyes.

If my hair was in my eyes all the time, I'd start to feel bloody irritable....

Not just you. It seems to be all the rage in poserdom these days. Personally I can't stand it.

I don't like it either.  I don't know how the models feel , but I like to see there eyes.  The eyes are the windows to the soul and I like to think my models hav soul.

I actually like it.
There's something about looking at you (me) through tussled hair that turns me on.
Hair is a very erotic feature of the human anatomy. Too bad I don't have any (on my head). But I appreciate those who do. Keep wav'en it girls.

I agree, the sameness is boring, and I put my wallet away after the first two appeared. There are only so many of that style of hair that a person needs in their runtimes. Let's see, that would be...ONE. Choose wisely.

I most often take the transmap and just shift the fringe up by cutting and pasting.

I am still frustrated by the paucity of 'everyday' non-glamorous hair styles... stuff like the old P4 Hair but with nice texture and transmaps... also nice lower res hair since seldom I ususaly render full body images under 1024x1024. More often than not I use my old Kozoburo hairs from c. Y2K.

MaterialForge ( ) posted Fri, 20 June 2008 at 11:06 AM

Yep, Kozaburo's old ones are still the best around for everyday styles. The old Daz Wonder Wedge gets a lot of exercise in my runtime too. Lyrra made some great textures for the wedge a few years back.

Acadia ( ) posted Fri, 20 June 2008 at 12:20 PM

Yep, there is definitely a lack of normal everyday hair, especially hair suitable for elderly men and women. Just like men, not all women when they get to 70 or 80  have a full lush head of hair. Women are subject to hair thinning and pattern baldness too.

It's tiring seeing yet another updo or long mane of curls  released in the stores.

I agree that too many of the hair styles look the same. I like to use hair that gives me the options if possible, of a fringe or not. Also, good morphs in a hair prop which allow you to really manipulate the style, to move the hair across in front of the eyes or to the side & out of the way.
My current fav is Yoanna hair as I really like this simple style, plus there's some useful morphs. Works well in Vue but takes an age to render.

I just saw that AprilYSH came out with a new "do" on another site.  Very pretty and different!  I'd say which site, but I don't think we're allowed to do that anymore.

As long as the content isn't innappropriate, or adult, I don't think they've been too harsh about it.

I'm using Yoanna's hair right now, I love it.  I love smooth straight hair.

Site Admin Online Now!

how about a style where the bangs are only half an inch long (about a centimeter) cause Mom tried to cut them and kept cuttinh to get them even (had that problem myself) or cause the cat ate them while you were sleeping (my sister had that problem)

or the I just woke up and my hair looks like I slept in a blender look

I'm considering going on a no-spending spree for hair until somebody finally creates one with the forehead and ears clearly exposed (I'm the opposite of Ashley, I prefer to see the scalp and ears prominently visible). An example of the look I'm talking about are Danae's Milan and Manhattan, except as actual hair props, since I'm not using V4.

I feel the same way.

Although I hate to admit it, but I would like to see the face more than the hair, not a lot of bangs/fringes covering the eyes, ears and especially (one of my pet peeves, the eyebrows).  I just browse through and see what the vendors come up with, and frankly I steer clear from hair conforms or props that just covers the face or half of it.  I like fringes and bangs on a stylish manner, but not all the way.

So, I'm not alone on this issue.

Having this issue myself today as a matter of fact.  I am beginning to truly despise the part of the project which requires adding the hair.  Half the time the only way the hair works is if the shoulders are not moved one bit from the default position.  So you are forced to use hair that does not pass the chin.  Choices on that are slim.  Then there is the hair in the face issue.

I hate hair!

Old thread but I've been thinking this for a long time too so I'll bump it anyway.  I like a couple of hairs that obscure the face (like Sapphire Fox hair), but most of them are really not what I'm looking for.  90% of the time I want something out of the face, INCLUDING the forehead!

I really wish vendors would A) take a long, hard look at what people are doing with their hair on the street, in print, and in TV/movies, and B) subtract everything observed in A that has been done, and C) create hair to reflect what's left.

Particularly very short hairs like Anders hair.  There's almost nothing at this length.  The cool thing is, one could make lots of unisex hair (with morphs because women don't wear it as tight and neat as men) and kill two birds with one stone.
