Im on a normal modem too,I dont use dlresumers, and i never had any probs with dl.Allthough I m in germany ,I get a fast and good connection.second , you get a email with the possibility to dl several times,if the connection should really crash. But if you have any questions, mail to DAZ, they are very helpfull

their customer service is very good...don't worry about it. I always have my email set to check every 8 minutes so that something is always on while I download, just in case (and I probably don't need to do that). But, I am sure you won't have any problems.

I don't think you'll find that download managers work over there. I have a couple in the background monitoring downloads and they usually lock over there with the script - there's actual link to anything as they use a redirector script to get the files. I have sat many times while I was using modem, nervously watching a download praying that my unstable connection would hold up long enough to get the file. Having said that. Daz are pretty good about things. The download system seems to have a byte count, so they know if you grabbed the whole file or not - at least it appears to be that way. Also, you get several attempts and two full downloads on any file you purchase. So there's a goodly chance of you getting stuff intact. If not, contact sales and they'll sort you out. What I tend to do is to download one complete file, check it and write it to cd immediately. I leave one download free on their site on the off chance that I need to grab the file later for whatever reason. I used to do this with Zygote as well. Download/purchase history is a useful tool sometimes. :) That way I know that there is one good solid file sitting somewhere safe in case my system blows it's stack and takes my desk and half the house with it. :)

ok thanks, you all made me decide to spend 60 bucks..hehe..you were SUPPOSED to tell me not to so i can afford food and stuff, oh well..poser is a worse habit to have than smokin...

I've had a couple of mishaps with downloads from DAZ, and they always came through for me. They are the very best with their customers. I even lost a download after I moved to a new computer and I informed them of this. They verified that I had bought the item and they let me download it again. You get two download tries with them, anyway. Melanie

Who needs food? You can gnaw on your fingers and other body parts for sustenance while you play with poser... Food? Such an outdated concept. :) The only bills you need to pay are the electricity bill and your net connection. Without electricity the pooter not worky no more and no poser... without a net connect you can't grab the (shrinking) free stuff and spend all the money you saved by not paying bills on "must have" items from Daz (or where ever)... Bills? Bah humbug to bills. :)

There is a new option on daz3d. They have a CD-Service now and you can order all parts you ever bought for 20 + shipping on a CD. Choose "account history"option for the CD and you have all parts toasted for backup. Robert

PERVERS: LOL! If you could see me, you would know, how much you are right with "who needs food" :-)) Robert

Daz is the best! I've never seen such customer service. I have a lousy connection (i'm talking 2.4 - 3.0 bps). I hang on for dear life when downloading. I use getright where it's allowed, as it lets you know if the server will resume a broken download. It doesn't change the speed, or enhance the experience in any way, except that you know you can run downstrairs and get a cup of coffee. I want so much to subscribe to PoserWorld, but they don't allow a resumable client, and I know from experience that I can't complete a download from them. You can't use getright at daz, and I've had to redownload from time to time, but I know if I pleaded my case, they'd get it to me no matter what. They really are the best.

I used fast downloader like Gozilla and no problem to resume. SOme artists or sites specify to not use them so please respect their request. For example when I go to poserworld I am shutting down my Gozilla because they ask for that and I am respecting their request. Claude
