Hi all,...I still haven't tried any 3d texturing programs like deep paint 3d with texture weapons or BodyPaint 3d etc... does anyone have any oppinions on ease of use, features etc...or do most of you use Photoshop, photopaint or whatever 2d paint program for texturing?

I use deep paint on occasion to get the broad outlines right. But I find I still do a lot of tweaking in photoshot at the end. I was not impressed with Body Paint.

I have Painter 3D and I could never figure out how to use it. It has a very steep learning curve. I ended up using Photoshop. I get all the results I need with that. Melanie

You can find a detailed review of BodyPaint by steve shanks on the www.interneteye3d.com Tutorials section! It includes lots of images so I guess that will give allow you to estimate it better and make up your mind! Soon another review to show up there about ZBrush's latest version..another program you might consider to check out! :o) Rena

thanks rena...I have done sooooooo much reading on all these programs over the past few months, believe me! I am just very interested in the oppinions of real users now. I did read Steve Shanks review and his tuorial. They all seem complicated to me!

Go grab the demo versions - the best way to figure out if you like them is to USE them :)

I can only support Melanie as far as her comment about Painter 3D is concerned. I have loaded the version that came on the Poser4-CD, read all through the manual, but still can't get the friggin thing to do anything useful for me. I guess there must be something usable in the program, and would be grateful, if anyone around here could give me a hint. D. (looking like the little shrugged fellow in Poser)

And I went out and bought the program full-price, too. What a waste. I never did anything for me. I could never figure out how it worked. Live and learn! Melanie

Oops, I meant to say IT never did anything for me, not I. :) Melanie

well, my gut feeling is that Body Paint is easier to use from looking thru all the features, screen shots, etc... not sure tho. I thought I would try it first.
