I usually start from the bottom and work my way up ( last to first or back to front))

#32 : dan whiteside              2 point
#30:  Thandaluz                     1 points
#17:  Lown                              3 points

Actually dan and Lown were tied for 3 points each in my mind and book. I really thought they both got the wow! factor down and Thandaluz had that "umph!" power... The following were great. I enjoyed looking at them again and again.

  1. #1 dhama (Love the building.)
  2. #3 Airflamesred ( great atmosphere)
  3. #5 orbital  (Would have been a good choice among the top 10 if there was a top ten choices)
  4. #6 Kanzler (like the  "Brave New World" feel of your rendering)
  5. #8 grafikeer (The POV is a killer. Love the concept of a building high up on mountain almost like the city in the cloud.)
  6. #11 duo (Would have been a good choice among the top 10 if there was a top ten choices)
  7. #14 haloo1 (like the mill and the rustic setting)
  8. #19 Quest ( love the pov and mat.)
  9. #28 rj001 (nice wip tutorial. Learned a few things or two)
  10. #29 gregsin (Loved the lodge. Would have been a good choice among the top 10 if there was a top ten choices)

The rest were good. Shows creativity and imagination. Love them all! :m_thumbu:

This was an enjoyable challenge to watch and follow along as artists made their wonderful contributions. And as always, it’s unfortunate that only 3 can win the top spot. Out of the 35 entries I immediately picked out 10 that I considered extraordinary and caught my eye. This is not to say that the remaining were not without talent, originality, compositional and esthetical forethought. It is wonderful and refreshing to see such diversity in ingenuity when it comes to compositing and modeling in Bryce. Finally it came down to making the hard choices. I spread my 10 favorite on my screen and after a long while of studying them, these are my top 3:

1st: Lown #17 - 3 points

2nd: rjoo1 #28 - 2 points

3rd: Orbital #5 - 1 point

My hardest choice to select was for the 3rd place spot. After selecting my first two top favorites there were 5 terrific images which I felt competed heavily for that spot. I scanned each image many times and boiled it down to three. Yet again, leaving me to pour over these final three for some time before grudgingly coming to my decision.

The remaining 4 entries for this spot were Thandaluz #30, Dan Whiteside #32, Duo #11 and Garmac #4. And these go into my honorable mention list together with the remaining 3 of my initial first 10 choices and they are: jrcejaspulido #20, navarone9942b #26 and finally akeel1701 #34.

Kudos go to Brholte for deciding this terrific challenge.

Congratulations to all!

I had promised to me same that it would not participate more of challenges, but that theme I made to change of idea.
As my vote has to obey the criteria, I chose 3 excellent works, but it is worth to remind that for me only the fact of modeling in Bryce, all deserve the prize**.
**
**My vote:
**Lown - **Entry #17 - 3 point
**jrcejaspulido - **Entry #20 - 2 point
**grafikeer - **Entry #8 - 1 point

**Honorable mention:
dan whiteside, rj001 ( Excellent textures and scenery )
Garmac - Great engineering

Congratulations for all.

Some great images here, really hard to choose a top three!!!
Garmac #4   3pts
Jrcejaspulido# 20   2pts
Orbital#5    1pt

Also kudos to rjoo1 (for the herculean effort), thandaluz, dan whiteside and lunchworks! (and of course to all the entrants!!)

jrcejaspulido ( ) posted Tue, 01 July 2008 at 4:17 PM

Lown #17 - 3 points
orbital #5 - 2 points
Garmac #4 - 1 point

Honorable Mention (probably they are too much but I really like them all)
rj110 #28 - very difficult and excellent modelling work
dhama #1 and grafikeer #8 - beautifull mixing of architechture and landscape
Thandaluz #30, Quest #19, gregsin #29 and dan_whitside #32 - excellent work

It has been very difficult to chosse the top three, and even the honorable mentions.
I think that a lot of images are great by the modelling work and others by the "artistic" value (composition, ambience, idea or original design, etc.). Some images that not only used bryce primitives but also default bryce textures are very good ones. In summary, this was a great challenge, so congratulations to all the participants.

#27 thunderstone
#32 dan whiteside
#35 dbrv6

I don’t understand this! The man says:

"You will place 3 votes, no more, no less, no voting for yourself.

The 3 votes will be your top 3 favorites. You will be giving 3 points to your #1 favorite, 2 points to your 2nd, and 1 point for your #3 fave. Try to list it something like this for easier tallying of the votes;

member 1's name - 3 points
member 2's name - 2 points
member 3's name - 1 point

SPECIAL NOTE - Please List the Image Number with your VOTE (otherwise that vote cannot be Tallied)"

And we’re getting such things as:

“# 54 – 3points”

Where’s the artist's name ? How unappreciative of that person can you be?

Are we expected to go back and forth to figure who this person is talking about?

The answer is NO! So please do as the moderator asks. It would be largely appreciated.

I had to concede the instant the challenge was announced.  I'm the worst modeler with any program.  Can't sculpt to save my life.  I started a project late, and just couldn't bring it off.

So, good job to those who did such wonderful work.  You have my respect and envy for your skills. :c)

3 Points - grafikeer   Shades of Riven.  I love it.
2 Points - Garmac    Saw this and knew it was a contender
1 Point  - Lown   What can I say?  Outstanding city work detail

Just to many to pick from so i used my number system...then looked at the images that where in that spot.
I will give everyone 5points for the effort they all put in, well done everyone..

I have opinions of my own -- strong opinions -- but I don't always agree with them.

airflamesred (#3) 3 Points - I like the atmosphere.
Thandaluz (#17) 2 Points - I like the general layout.
orbital (#5) 1 Point - I like the concept.

An honorable mention goes to Germac because I wondered if this was modeled in Bryce.
I'd have given it points if it was, either way, it's too late now.
