Yes.
I haven't had time to try it, but it can capture an object or figure from a game being played on a PC or from a website with embedded 3D objects. I've seen examples of objects captured from Halo on the 3DVIA site. Once somebody develops a good conversion program that can save the XML file to a 3DS or Obj file, it will be a very cool program to have.

I haven't had a chance to try this yet, but there is now a way to capture 3D models and their textures on a PC using 3DVIA Printscreen. It saves the files as XML and I don't believe that there is an easy way to convert that format to a more common one.
