 Hi y'all...

I just released Akiko to the world the other day, you can click my sig to check her out!

I'm starting this thread to help people that might be having problems with her that I haven't encountered myself...

 Here's one example.

One of my customers says when injecting the character, it asks him to locate the V4.OBJ file, and once the character is injected, all the other morphs he has on the figure get wiped out or deleted. This was an odd problem that I've never encountered with Akiko or any other character, and I can't figure out what's causing it. I mentioned that the problem might be with V4, not Akiko, and he may need to re-install, but I'm not sure.

Has anyone ever encountered this problem before with any other characters? If so, could you share a possible solution with me so I can pass it on?

 Thankx

I am having the same problem (using DAZ Studio)

My V4 obj file is named ...v4b.obj so I choose that and it doesn't work
Also it says cannot find akiko.pmd although when I hit locate, it is right there.

I have no problems with any other characters (Alice, GND4, etc.)
Using Daz version 2.1.1.13

Unfortunatley I don't have Daz studio, so I wasn't able to test her there. I was hoping the renderosity testing process would take care of that for me, but I guess I was wrong.

If you can't get the character inject to work, there is a work-around, assuming you can load individual morph-targets in DS.

If you go to RuntimeGeometries!Akiko!akiko morphs... you'll see the .obj files for her body, and they're labled accordingly (akik-abomen, akiko-hip, etc) There's 15 files there, so you could load them in individually for each body part.

 I hope that helps.

Do you have a space in your MAT path?  That will occasionally throw errors to find things.

Which version of Vicki did you use to create?

by MAT path, do you mean the folder name? In that case, yes I do. I guess I never thought to change that since it always worked fine in Poser, and it passed the r'osity testing, but i guess they only use poser as well.

I used "V4 base" to construct my morphs, but I tested the injector in poser on all 3 versions of her, and never had a problem.

I'll try to get DS for when I test my new character, which is comming along very well... mostly ;-)
Hopefully there won't be any problems with her once she's released.

D|S doesn't read spaces in folder names very well.

I used to use "3D Arena" for my folders but the D|S users had to search for files when I did that so I had to switch to "3DArena" instead

:-)

I'll deffinatley keep that in mind from now on. The next one will work just fine in DS.

I seem to be having a problem loading the morph.  When I click to load it I get this "unable to locate file" message: Cannot find a file for "/Runtime/libraries/Character/!Akiko!/Akiko.pmd"

When I installed the files there was no !Akiko! folder in the character folder.

I am a D/S user, btw.

joebushido ( ) posted Sun, 06 July 2008 at 7:39 PM

the akiko.pmd file is located in...

RuntimeLibrariesPose!Akiko!

I don't know why it's looking into the character folder, since the script that calls for the .pmd doesn't have the full file address. The only thing in the character folder should be the conforming chest-straps and shoes.

As we speak, I'm uploading a fix for the character INJ that should hopefully resolve alot of issues, as well as add some new content. Once it's up, I'll message everyone with the address in my file-locker, as well as post a link here.

D|S Users can not use pmd files they are Poser 6 + only.

D|S Users need DeltaX15’s InjectPMD plug-in.

ok.. well there aren't any .pmd files in the updated character pack, so no worries there ;-)

That explains that then, hah.  Thanks for the info.

Joebushido, thanks for the quick reply and for posting the fix.  Extra content is always nice too.
The morph seems to load fine now.  Thanks a lot.

joebushido ( ) posted Sun, 06 July 2008 at 8:55 PM

Was there something wrong with the first package, besides the texture for the "surprise" makeup being missing?  The other warrior textures looked very nice though.
