Hello, I occasionally use Poser4 and I notice that the V4's have a problem with certain poses. It seems if the thighs are posed at certain angles, they rip apart. Also, I've narrowed it down to figures that don't have the buttocks body part.

Does anyone know of a fix for this? Any help appeciated.

DS, or a version of poser released this century? ;)

This is Poser4 ProPack.  You know, the one from Curious Labs. Remember them?

I know it's kind of prehistoric but then again, so am I 8-)

Yeah I remember.. it's ancient and odds are that's why things are no longer working, hence my suggestions.

You have similar problem with Poser 5 too.

snabald ( ) posted Fri, 04 July 2008 at 8:06 AM

If you're strapped for cash Daz Studio is the way to go. I'd even go as far to say that it's a serious contender against the current version of poser.

It's got a very nice renderer and really only lacks dynamic cloth and hair (which poser 4 does not have anyway). Also, in my opinion, the interface is much nicer and the material room is much more intuitive.

Hdrider ( ) posted Fri, 04 July 2008 at 5:55 PM

Hello,

Miken999: I don't have Poser5 installed at the moment but the V4's work fine in 6 and 7.

snabald: I have DS but don't work with it much. This is just one of those things that kind of irritates. It's not a biggy but sure would like to know if it can be fixed.

Gareee:   ??? What suggestions ???

Victoria 4 does NOT work properly in Poser 5 or earlier , or earlier versions of Daz Studio. This was announced by Daz when V4 was released. If you are careful with the posing V4 will load in Poser 5 but shows defects when placed in certain positions.

The easiest(cheapest) solution is to use Daz Studio , latest version .

Hdrider ( ) posted Sat, 05 July 2008 at 4:46 PM

Okay, it looks like there is no solution at the present time.

Thanks all for the input.

Actually there is a Solution  but it requires leaving the crumbling caves of the past (poser4 PP).

if one chooses to remain in the crumbling caves of the past
one cannot  expect to drag in modern present day items (V4 etc.)
and expect them to properly interface with your CRUMBLING CAVE.

What we are trying to say clearly, is you are using old out of date software that can no longer keep up with currently content and plugin releases.

Either upgrade poser, or download DS for free.

I don't have Poser 4 installed ATM, but I'm pretty sure it's V4.2's JSM magnets that are causing the problems.

Solution:
Download a cr2 editor, load her cr2 file and delete all the embedded magnets.
Then try her again.

V4 works fine without the mags.

I in fact deleted the mags from both my standard as well as my LoRez version and use morphbrush fix morphs instead.
Saves a lot of memory and makes her bend a lot better than those pesky magnets.

🆒

On the right standard V4.2 with embedded JSM magnets. On the left LoRez V4.2 with magnets deleted and using morphbrush morphs instead.

Note better shoulders with correct armpits and inside of thighs without dents.

Gareee ( ) posted Mon, 07 July 2008 at 4:11 PM

Course don't also forget all the clothing that depends on those magnets, and V4's magnetizing to make things fit properly.

(And he won't' have the morphbrush, since it's not built into poser 4.)

Seriously, instead of spending hour hacking apart cr2s trying to make things work on poser for, stop being a cheapskate, and upgrade your software. Its been 5-8 years.. don't you think it's about time?

Garee and Wolf359:

I DO have DS and Poser7.  It is just and experiment to see if I could get V4 to work with and older version of poser is all.

JoePublic: I'll try that and see what happens.

Why you would waste your time then screwing around with 10 year old out of date software is beyond me.

Clothed V4.2 with neither magnets nor morphbrush morphs.

Could use a little postwork around the shoulders but otherwise looks fine to me.

The fabled "magnet fits" are way overrated.
Looking at promos and gallerie renders, not many people seem to use them at all.
Another idea that sounded good on paper I guess...Lol.

BTW, morphbrush morphs work in any version of Poser.

Could anyone tell me where to find a simple black outfit for V4.2 like the one in the JoePublic post ?

I do it sometimes too :-D, simple fun for some of us, most people here do Poser just for fun, wasting time? after all in the proces of screwing around one may learn something useful  :-)

I did some fast animation with M4 on Poser Pro some time ago and it worked perfect, magnets on V4 may have something to do with the problem.
