Subject: Dammit Poser !!!

Warangel ( ) posted Sat, 12 July 2008 at 9:50 PM · edited Sun, 06 October 2024 at 7:01 AM

I ran into this with SR2, where the interface became almost unusable with the loooooong pause between every interaction. I remember posting about it and someone finding a solution that worked, and I was happy.

Then I install SR3 and that exact problem is back and I can't find the answer here in the forums.

Whenever the mouse rolls over an object, or an interface element, my Poser locks up for a good 40 seconds.

I think the solution had something to do with some type of timer before action or something? I don't remember, but suddenly my Poser is useless again.

HELP!!!

If I recall, the timing thing was discovered by svdl.

It's a line in Poser.INI:

LIB_POPUP_TIMEOUT 90

Changing 90 to 2 will make the library action faster, but I don't
think this will help your problem.

Be sure the number of Undo levels (settable in General Preferences)
is small, such as 10 instead of 100.

Also could be interference with another program, like your antivirus
or firewall.   If you're using ZoneAlarm, be sure the newly registered
version of Poser is counted as a "trusted" application.

Everything was fine with SR2. Just happened when I installed SR3. Like an idiot, I didn't backup my preferences. I am hoping it's the library popout, so gonna try that.

Sadly, that didn't fix it. :(

Could you please tell me where this is?

I am having multiple problems since I installed the update, But I would like to try everything possible before I roll back to SR2

The poser ini file should be in the prefs folder in runtime.

You need to "Show hidden folders" to see it. Anyone have a solution for my problem please?
