A good freeware 3D modeler for beginners is Anim8or (Anim8or.com). It doesn't have all the tools you'll find on the higher-end modelers but does a great job especially for the price. One of the best features is that it will export .obj files which is an absolute must if you're going to work on your own figures.

I use OpenFX, and 3d Canvas, here. Both are free. OpenFX has a ton of functions...It isnt a little stripped down program by any means...44mb download. For just making morphs, though, I find anim8or a quick little program to do that..(also free.)Attached Link: http://3d.com
Check out strata 3D their non pro version FREE is great I think it outputs obj files I know it imports them. I use LW 6.5 Normally it's 2500 you can get the competitive upgrade if you own other graphics packages. for only about $495. Plus they have academic versions at journeyed.com For the modeling portion the learning curve isn't that bad. This site uses cookies to deliver the best experience. I love using Poser, and would like to start making some of my own props (I know there are a lot of great ones out there, but I'd like to try making my own). I'm looking for some feeedback on what people consider the best software for making poser props.
