Subject: Casting shadows with lights (gel lights?) -

I have never done this before so hopefully I will explain this correctly.  I am creating a scene that casts a shadow of a window onto my character and wall.  I have seen what some call gel lighting and it casts shadows on a particular scene.  I do not know how they did it so I guessed at it.

First I took the main light and added the image of the window to it in the simple section of the Materials Room.  Secondly, I tried to render it with the advanced settings listed at basic settings with auto fit and tile as an image map.  Shadow showed up with multiple windows.  Took it off of tile and it does not show up.  I have tried using every one of the settings to see if it would change.  Nothing happens.  It only shows up when it is tiled.  I hope I made that simple and clear enough.

I would do a screen capture, but alas I do not know how to do that.  I would appreciate any help given.  Thank you and have a lovely weekend! - Beth

And here is a thread that has a number of links regarding lighting.
